Bought for my 18 yr old autistic son. He is not the best swimmer and needs a vest if in the pool alone. This has removable bendable styrofoam pieces that can be removed as he gets better at swimming. It isn't as buoyant as a ski vest which is good cause he has to move his arms and kick more.

3.5 stars. It's lightweight and fits snug on me, which is good. Fits properly around torso, without riding up too easily. I like that it has crotch/leg straps, to secure it and prevent ride-up. CONS... 1. The Zipper is installed BACKWARDS; the pull is on the left instead of the right (like women's clothing, I guess). I've NEVER worn a zip-up PFD that zipped up like that - they're always unisex with the pull on the right. I'm guessing this is NOT by design, and that's why it's so low-priced. 2. The crotch straps - which I like having - are not quick release fasteners. They're feed throughs, so you have to thread them through every time. This is a bigger problem, because if you're in the water and *have* to get the vest off, it isn't easy - I will buy some 1" plastic clips and replace these, for sure. 3. And, after buying it... they've dropped the price $3.00 without comping me!!!

Got to wear this while kayaking for the first time. Much more comfortable than a traditional fit life jacket. I like the safety features as well such as a whistle and straps to keep it from riding up. Ordering a second one.
