The media could not be loaded. This quick adjust dumbbell set is well designed and is well made. At the heart of this set are a “rubber” coated dumbbell bars that features an adjustable locking mechanisms on each end of one dumbbell. As you can see in the video, by rotating the bar to set weight marks, different numbers of plates on each end of one dumbbell will be locked and picked up when the dumbbell is lifted up out of the base plate (rack/bracket). When “5” pounds is selected, four plates remain in the base plate as the dumbbell bar and its adjusting and locking mechanism alone have a weight of 5 pounds total. When the dumbbell bar is rotated to “25” all the plates on each side of a dumbbell are locked and lift up when the dumbbell is picked up. The dumbbell bar can rotate left or right from 5 pounds, to 10, 15, 20, and 25. And it can be rotated 25 pound down to 20, 15, 10, and 5 pounds. But, unlike some other similar adjustable dumbbells, the rotating mechanism on this set cannot rotate directly from 5 to 25 or conversely from 25 to 5, even though these numbers are marked next to each other. The dumbbell bars are covered in a comfortable and easy to grip “rubber’ coating. The black weight plates are coated and they are all very smooth with no rough spots. The base racks/brackets are sturdy and made of plastic. Without these racks, it would be difficult, and maybe even impossible to use the quick-change design. When rotating the dumbbell bar you feel a slight click as you move into a weight. When you pick up a dumbbell no matter how many of the weight plates are lifted they all feel very securely set in place. Each of the two dumbbells can also be easily gripped by holding and lifting up on the underside of one side of a dumbbell, as if using a single dumbbell fully loaded as a kettlebell. There is no unwanted wiggling, wavering, or movement of the plates within the dumbbell as you move the dumbbell back and forth around your body in exercising. This quick-adjust set eliminates that need to buy multiple sets of dumbbells. It also only takes seconds to adjust the total weight which means there will be no interruptions in your workouts. Want the idea of having your own gym ?! Well this is a great start! These weight were ideal for my home. They are easy to adjust weights from 5/10/15/20/to 25lbs. Comes with a small rank as seen in the picture to set the weights down, ans save space. The grip is awesome providing safety and sturdiness. They function good, great for getting reps in.
