I always loved the idea of quick adjustable dumbbells like this, especially multiple sets with different maximum weight ranges, so I was quick to try this out. The plastic tray each dumbbell comes with is basically there to hold the detached weights in place and make adding/subtracting weights a painless process. Adjusting the weights is easy, and I find it incentivizes strength training problem areas on my body, because I don't have to search for the right dumbbell to avoid damaging the weak link, I just detach all the weights and use the handles to start. In the same vein, it is also a great way to warm up, starting with just the handle for a rep or two, then add more weight until you are at the maximum you can currently use. The adjustment function would be great even if it was clunky, but it is substantial feeling, easy to use, and quick to activate. The rainbow weight plates are just as good looking as I hoped they would be in the home gym, I highly recommend them over the others offered. These are not a name brand that I know, so I must bring up my one issue with these: the price. It is too high, there are fifty pound dumbbells in the same vein as this at a similar price, that is not acceptable, even when factoring in that this listing offers the sweet multicolored weight plates, it does not justify the price.

With full weights or no weights, they don't feel bulky -They don't take up that much space. Comparing them to similar weights, the size is small which is impressive -They feel pretty solid. I haven't dropped them.. but... your not suppose to either -4 dumbbells in one! Cons: -Minor con.... You can't go directly from 9LBS to 22.5LBS. You have to go 9 > 13.5 > 18 > 22.5... or 22.5 > 18 > 13.5 > 9. Other Thoughts: -This isn't a con because most all adjustable weights are like this. It takes some time to get used to putting the weights back. You have to wiggle them a little.

Well no, I'm actually getting up there and any chance I EVER had to look like Arnold is WAY back in my rear-view mirror. But I do stay active and moderate lifting is supposed to be good for bone density. This dumbell set is a great addition to the other items I have in my "gym". And so much easier to use than having to add or take away weights depending on who's using it. A great value!

I have a grit that is long and operates the same way so I was hoping to find dumbbells same way. Those are great! Both I and my husband can use them because they weight adjustment window is pretty large. Of course he can handle more but for home workout it's just perfect. They can be store neatly and are easy to change the weight. Great find instead of carrying 10 different weights!

These are great weights! I absolutely love the system used to select the amount of weight you want to use. Basically, the dumbbell sits in the tray holder with all the weight plates on it. You turn the handle of the dumbbell to select the weight, and it clicks onto the weight plates (or leaves them behind in the tray if you want less weight) when you pick them up. For example, if I turn the dumbbell handle for 10 pounds, it clicks and selects the plates to create 10 pounds of weight. When you pick up the dumbbell, the plates that weren't selected remain upright in their tray, separate from the dumbbell. When you are finished, you slide the dumbbell back into the tray and the weight plates are all available again to choose. The dumbbells and weights all seem to be of good quality, and I haven't yet had any issues with the weight plate/click system.

Very versatile and easy to use. The handle may get stuck in between weight plates so I have to wiggle them and shake them on the plate until they get to the next plate, but other than that, they work very good for my home gym.
