Took a bit of juggling to straighten it out in the Amazon system with an additional order, partial refund, etc. Multiple emails with the seller in the process and they were great to deal with. I ordered these after reading reviews and comparing and when I received the order one didn't work. I then contacted the company about it and they were so gracious to send me a replacement. I'm now highly disappointed because I was told not to return the original one that was non-working and have now been charged for a full second set of 2 dumbbells and the seller is telling me they didn't charge me so they don't have to refund me. Amazon was also of no help and told me I have to work through the seller. Buyer beware if you end up with a set that doesn't work .... ... show more

    • Good weights. Worrisome adjustment mechanism.

I almost returned these weights. Although the “ease” of adjusting them by turning the handle seems great, I was skeptical of the design. Only a small metal tab pressing against a cheap plastic button engages the mechanism to select different weights. I worry the metal tab can easily get bent or the plastic button could break with extended use, rendering the whole weight useless. First time I lifted the unit, the weights seemed flimsily attached so I jiggled one to test its secureness, and it fell off! Would not want that happening if I had lifted it over my head. I initially wrote this review stating that I would be returning them, but I was impressed by the manufacturer's genuine concern and the sincerity of their response to my concerns. I gave them another try, and as long as you're careful setting the dial, they seem secure. Still a bit worried about their long-term durability, but the handle is extremely comfortable, and it's the only weight-set I've found with the smaller increments this one provides, which is a very nice feature. Only a one year warranty... 3 years plus would boost the number of stars I'm giving them, but let's see how this goes! ... show more
