I absolutely love the versatility of having so many weight options in such a compact package. I have some more expensive and heavier (55 lbs) adjustable dumbbells, and these Fit Sir dumbbells (25 lbs) complement them well hold their own in terms of ease of use (the adjustments are quick and consistently successful) and utility. I didn't think I'd ever need another dumbbell after I got the bigger set, but I found that for some exercises, such as front/side delt raises, the larger increments of the heavier dumbbells made it hard to step up the weight for progressive overload. I just kept doing more and more reps, but throw another 5 on each side and it was too big of a step up to do meaningful volume. That's where these come in. With weight starting at 3 lbs and going up in 2 to 3 pound increments, it is much easier to achieve progressive overload with weight increases rather than just throwing more reps (and time) into my workout. I will say that they feel a bit plasticky, but that doesn't affect their function. Being lower weight makes them feel sturdy enough. The labels on the sides for adjusting the weight are rather hard to see because they are only labeled with raised plastic, all the same color. But that can be remedied easily with a sharpie to add black to the raised numbers. I was sent one dumbbell for review, and I liked it so much that I bought a 2nd to have a pair. That should tell you all you need to know.

The FitSir adjustable weight dumbell with storage platform is cleverly designed and nice looking. The tray/platform has finger-shaped grooves making it much easier to lift the whole tray, because when it's got the fully loaded dumbell in it, it gets hard to pick up. It takes some practice to get the weight changes figured out, but it does come with an instructions booklet. Editing to add: the red weight selection rings in my photo are to tell you which weight you've selected, after turning the grippy dumbell part. The dumbell has several user interactive features, and they can be confusing. There are red dials to select the amount of weight you want, and also locks that you'll have to use in certain scenarios. Because I'm so new to this unit, I haven't gotten them memorized, I just know that you have to put the dials on the lowest setting (3) in order to open/unlock the whole dumbell and allow all the weights to be fitted back into their grooves if you've taken them off like I did. FYI- It's not recommended to do that! Like I said, it's confusing unless you're an engineer and have a working knowledge of how this dumbell is designed to function, but my brain can't decipher how it works, therefore I can't use 'common sense' to work it out easily. The dumbell bar is nice with a textured, soft, grippy cover, and using the dumbell is safer, as it reduces the chance that you'll lose your grip and drop it. It also makes lifting more comfortable for your wrist, because there is no sliding, you won't even need gloves. The horseshoe shaped weights have a divot so you know which way they go back into the platform. Without that divot, I'd have been lost! Again, don't take the weights off except if the dumbell is seated in the tray. This order contains one dumbell, with a total of 10 weights, 5 for each side of this one dumbell, plus 1 tray, so if you wanted 2, one dumbell for each hand, be sure to order correctly.

Bro, did I love adding this Red-Barbell to my Home Gym. I didn't realize but it's not a Set, just a Single Barbell and it comes completely assembled and ready to go. Anyway, you will soon discover that you don't need a Set, because The Grip is incredible, smooth rubber that contours to your hand, so it's easy on the hands, no Lifting Gloves necessary at all. Well built and feels like solid weight! Even though I already own a Full Set of Barbells, I found this Barbell was perfect for doing Isolation One Handed Curls with better form and tension thru the entire lift, giving me a great pump, Back Rows and Triceps Kick Backs were a breeze too. I stabilized myself with my opposite hand on my Dip Rack while performing Isolation Sets to get an Extra Pump, then alternated Arms. Guys when I tell you it feels like Thor's Hammer in your hands, I'm not kidding. Oh I forgot changing weights is a Breeze too, just rotate the grip Clockwise to cycle weight up or down throughout your lifts, while it's still in the Docking Tray! Anyway don't miss out on this one, it's worth every dollar and for me I'm a hard gainer with my Arms, but I'm so excited to have something that doesn't hurt my hands or wears them out doing Curls over and over, now let me get started on ALL THESE GAINS!!! This is such a creative design! The compact size of this dumbbell set is perfect for apartment living, since it doesn't take up much space. I received the 25lb option and it fits perfectly next to me at my desk. The weight is very well made and sits conveniently in the included base. It adjusts smoothly, with little effort, and offers you a variety of weights to choose from: From 3lbs, 5, 8, 10, 13, 15, 18, 20, 23, up to 25lbs. The plates all lock in securely to the grab bar, and I have not felt any concern for them falling off while in use. If you are needing a dumbbell set that fits in a small footprint, I would highly recommend!
