Switching between weights is generally easy, allowing me to customize my routine effortlessly, though it can interrupt the flow of my workout a bit. The iron sand weights feel sturdy, and I've noticed a real improvement in my strength. However, the size of the dumbbells can feel a bit bulky for certain exercises. If I could only get one weightlifting set, this would be the one to get! It is so versatile! Everything is mix-and-match, so I can put as few or as many of the 2.75-pound weight plates as I want on either the dumbbell handles, the barbell handle, or the kettlebell handle. Plus, there are two kettlebell handles and they double as push-up stands. The weights seem to be very durable and I like that they are surrounded by a protective rubber casing, which not only protects the weights, but the floor if they fall. The nuts spin onto the thread of the bar to hold them on tightly, so I don’t really need to worry about them coming loose. The handles are all lightweight and plastic-feeling, but they do have good grip texture on them. The barbell has a thick foam sleeve on it that is very soft and comfortable to hold. As a woman fairly inexperienced with weightlifting, I find the weights in this 22-pound set to be just right for what I can lift comfortably. A larger set with heavier weights would be better for someone stronger. As I get stronger, I can add another weight to each side of the barbell until I have 11 pounds on each side or maybe purchase additional 5-pound weight plates. But for now, this set works perfectly for me!
