This back pack has held up against a 8 yr old 3rd grader who has put it to the test! Colors definitely pop out for safety and visual appearance! Main pockets are big enough for all of his books and folders. Hopefully it will hold up for the entire year, but time will tell......... I have been using this bag to commute to/from work for the last 2 1/2 years and it's been so great that my coworkers all bought one for themselves! It's so spacious for everything I need all day as a nurse and the compartments help keep my things organized. The waterproof material protects the contents inside and having side pockets on both sides ensures that I can carry my coffee and still always have an umbrella with me just in case.
