I had originally bought one of the adjustable elevated bowls but my dogs are not gentle creatures lol they bent the metal on that one within a week. I finally decided to try ordering a new kind and landed on this one. It’s simple to put together and as long as you actually tighten the bolts with a wrench/ratchet then it seems to be pretty sturdy as well! I also love that it is completely metal. I have had bowl holders in the past where the top wood/melamine/or bamboo part ends up looking horrible in a month due to the amount of water that our Dane mix gets everywhere while drinking so I really think this one will stand the test of time quite a bit better than my previous feeders. For reference my female Akita is 6 months and 59lbs at the moment and my male Dane mix is 10.5 months and is at 150lbs and both can comfortably eat and drink out of it without slouching. It’s actually tall enough where I have my large dog’s water in the elevated feeder and my Corgi’s bowls underneath it and they can drink out of their bowls with room to spare under it. The bowls it comes with are nice, but a little shallow. This is literally the only tiny gripe I have about the whole thing. The mat that also comes with this is actually pretty good too! Stops water from running all over the floor when they inevitably only get half of it in their mouths when drinking. ... show more

Just thing ever for senior tall dogs. Or just tall dogs in general. My old man doesn’t even have to bend at all to eat the bowl is right at this mouth. A lot taller than expected. Great product and very sturdy
