The AcuRite indoor outdoor weather station has an outdoor temperature sensor to act as an outdoor thermometer that provides measurements for outdoor temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and moon phase. The auto-dimming, backlit LCD color display features an indoor temperature thermometer, trend arrows, and daily highs and lows for temperature and humidity. The home weather station features self-calibrating technology to provide your personal weather forecast 12 hours from your current conditions. The digital outdoor thermometer sensor is powered by two (2) AA alkaline or lithium batteries (not included). The temperature gauge indoor display uses an included AC adapter and can use 3 AA batteries (not included) for optional battery backup. This is a very nice weather station. Once you get it set up the way you want it, it performs well. It has almost all the features that I wanted, and they all work as advertised. The temperature readings are accurate, as is the barometric pressure (see below). I never pay much attention to the humidity readings, as those sensors are subject to all sorts of variations (However, after many months of ownership, I find that the humidity readings are helpful, if not perfectly accurate). The only negative that I can think of is that it is not possible to set the clock to the 24-hour format. I like to use the 24-hour format, even though I'm in the USA, but for most users this would not be an issue. Here are some other things that potential buyers might want to know: 1) Setting up most of the features is not particularly difficult, but manually setting up the barometric pressure is a bit of a challenge. Many people won't care about that, but I do. I wanted to set it to the reading at our local airport, and it took me about 15 minutes to get it right. The procedure is addressed in the manual, but it could be explained a little more clearly. (The unit does have a 14-day "learning period" during which, I assume, it's supposed to eventually automatically detect the barometric pressure. I neither wanted to wait, nor did I trust this feature to get it right, so I switched from "automatic" to "manual" to set it myself.) 2) The display is very clear and colorful IF IT IS BELOW EYE LEVEL. The more it is above eye level, the more washed out it will be. In other words, you want to place this weather station where you will be looking down at it. 3) It is unrealistic to expect devices like this to actually forecast the weather. This is tough enough for supercomputers to accomplish. If you want a real weather forecast, go to a weather website or watch the Weather Channel. 4) While the literature never explicitly says so, I believe that the time-date function is tuned to the National Bureau of Standards atomic clock [after months of ownership, I have concluded that this is not so; the clock runs just a little bit fast and has to be manually reset]. There is a separate button battery to power this function, which is why the time and date are correct right out of the box. Of course, you do have to set the time zone and whether or not daylight saving time is used in your area. 5) The product information clearly says that this unit is designed to be plugged in. Do not expect it to be otherwise. The batteries are only for back-up in case of a power failure. Be sure to put in the three AAs so you don't lose all your settings if the power goes out or you have to unplug the unit. 6) Read the manual. ... show more

Purchased this Home Weather Station w/ Color Display to replace an older AcuRite weather station that was not working properly (outdoor temperature would not register correctly). Older AcuRite weather station lasted about 7 years or so. I really like this new color display model, shows more weather info than the older unit. Display is somewhat small and the viewing angle is not the best but after setup seems to work well and gives me all the weather info I need. Would recommend AcuRite weather stations, very cost competitive. ... show more

I’ve had this AcuRite weather station for nearly a year, and it has been flawless. It’s accurate on temperatures and humidity, easy to use, and gives you a great amount of information right at a glance. The setup was straightforward, and it has consistently performed without issues. My only reason for 4 stars is that the material quality could feel a little more premium. The display is bright and easy to read. The information on tje display is organized well and all ot takes is a quick glance to see what you need. It has a small remote out door temperature probe which can be mounted or leave mobile! For the performance and reliability, though, I’m very impressed. If you want a dependable home weather station without spending a fortune, this is a great choice². ... show more

This re-laced my 25 yr old indoor/outdoor temperature gauge (Radio Shack!) the display has much more information and is colorful. Set up was easy and quickly connected to the outdoor sensor. This unit required plug in and my old unit was all battery operated. My only critique is the display is Affected by angle. In other words when I mounted it on the wall it looked faint. If I tipped the angle toward me it was perfect. So a wall mount doesn’t work as well as the shape of the device when mounted on a wall gives it a bit of upward angle, making it appear dim. If I set it on my dresser it has a better angle and appears fine. Depends on your situation. The humidity readings are way off. Colorado winters are known for dry air and this is reading 44% indoor and outdoors ... show more

AcuRite is an unfortunate name for this product. Having owned it for several seasons now, I’m disappointed to report that it is neither accurate nor “rite.” The sensor is off by at least 5-10 degrees in all weather. The forecast feature is entirely inaccurate 90 percent of the time; it predicts rain often and in error. I’ve checked it against multiple sources virtually daily. I got this one because of the color scheme. It separates the 4 categories so good you don't have to stare at it for a minute to try to figure out what is what. I can glance over at it and can tell immediately what is what. Most other ones blend everything together, not sure why they make other ones complicated. 1-4-2023 I purchased this product as a replacement for my old Acurite monochrome unit I had hanging on the wall. I chose the AcuRite 02077 model primarily because the screen is in color and VERY easy to read. A great layout of the screen. Provides basic weather info which is all I need at a glance. Really how much more do you really need. If I really need to get tuned into the weather conditions, there are so many apps, TV weather and websites to go to. Setup was easy. Overall, I am pleased with this product. Now for the critical comments: 1. I was surprised that the screen was a color background and not a color LCD. Not hat it bothers me. The layout is still easier on the eyes than the other ones I've seen. 2. The screen size is actually 5" wide by 3" tall. Smaller than other units on the market. This is not mentioned anywhere in the descriptions and should be. 3. The home unit is powered by an AC transformer. Required to operate. 4. The actual monochrome information is displayed in/on the static color background. Unfortunately the display technology used does not allow for multiple viewing angles. To see the numbers clearly and boldly, you have to be looking at a downward angle. Best for sitting on a tabletop or counter. THIS IS NOT MADE TO BE WALL MOUNTED! Although a mounting hole is provided on the unit, if you were to hang it up at eye level, you can't read the numbers. I had to use a long screw to to extend the unit out from the wall 2" in order to view the numbers well at eye level.
