Durable all-weather construction makes this outdoor thermometer clock a functional addition to any patio, pool area, or garden. It also features reliable quartz crystal movement, accurate temperature and humidity readings, and easy-to-read numbers. The thermometer measures temperatures from -40 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, while the humidity sensor readings range from 1% to 99% relative humidity. This AcuRite thermometer clock includes an instruction manual and has an integrated keyhole for effortless wall mounting. The backlight requires four D alkaline batteries; the clock requires one AA alkaline or lithium battery (all batteries not included). AcuRite recommends lithium batteries for temperatures below -4 °F (-20°C). It keeps time well, temp and humidity is accurate for the current Phoenix 100+ dry weather, and it has solid construction. I have this 40 feet from my pool and when the backlight is on it's readable but not too bright which is perfect for me. The dim backlight matches the rest of the soft mood lightning I have around the yard. At 40 feet it may be hard for some to read in the dark but so far my guests have all been able to see it well. It looks great! The one I initially received had an issue with the backlight timer and it did not turn on automatically when it was dark out. I had to manually pull it off the wall and flip the switch each night I want to use it (to Off then back to Timer or Always on). Once I toggle the switch then the backlight stated on for the night and turns off as expected, but it wouldn't turn on again the next night (with switch still in T or A mode). Seems to be some issue with the light sensor or timer. I returned the first clock and received a full replacement. The second one works perfectly! ... show more

Easy to see and read, doubly so with the back-lit lighting. It's quite large and can be seen from many areas when we're outdoors. Simple design is great too. Bought for my husband as a birthday gift and he is delighted. Going strong after 3 months...hung in the pool/lanai area under a deep overhang.

This is our third clock this large in the last 25 years. They last a good amount of time. This is a differen brand than the other two. We have an extremely humid environment. All working well after 6 months.

No good. This click has not even lasted a year before failure. The backing of the clock (inside the glass, behind the hands) is already peeling and bubbling up. More importantly though the hour hand is just flopping around and no longer working. Lights still work and the minute hand but I need the time to be right more than twice a day… ... show more

The clock is well made. I have other AcuRite products and everything I've purchased from them have stood the test of time. The face of this clock is large and easy to read. The back lighting is not to overpowering. It glows and lights up the face of the clock so its easy to read at night. I originally bought the clock for our new outside deck area, but my wife liked it so much that we put in our bedroom .We have high cathedral ceilings so we put it up by one of the peaks and it looks great.
