  • Bright and Cool

So far, I've had no issues. I got my first pack of these from a thrift store and loved them, so I got these for my road bike and have no issues. The pack I ordered here didn't come with instructions, but they were easy to remember how to install. I like that the batteries are included too. I'm an avid cyclist and work night shift, so I figured these would be a noteworthy investment (solely for safety, how they look is totally irrelevant to me, lol). I've gotten compliments on them from cars and late-night trail users. They don't interfere with tire changes either. They seem a little flimsy, but they've held up well against dirt. Ive not gotten them that wet to know for sure, though. The lights are bright enough to be seen from a distance, and definitely turn heads, which makes me feel safer in the dark. They don't weigh much or feel bulky either. I feel like a kid, but they really are practical for safety. ... show more

  • Looks great, But...
Color: Color-Changing
**UPDATE ON REVIEW** January 2024, After reaching out about the failed lights that I received, they made it rght! I received a replacement of the lights, and both strings worked perfectly! I'm so happy that my daughter is over the moon about them. Where she didn't show much interest in her trike before, Now she is always wanting to be on it! Thanks for great customer service and a really fun product! Now, I'm giving ths product, 5 STARS! **End Update** These lights look really good and bright, however, I'm giving this product three stars only because when I received one of the sets of lights, (2 strings per box) that I ordered, one string didn't work and the other string stayed on and would not turn off. It also never changed color as I did purchase the COLOR CHANGING LIGHTS. I was getting them for my daughter's Trike (3 wheeled cycle) so, I needed several packs. Now, I guess I'm stuck having to order more IF I want to use them. Whatever happened to the lifetime warranty? ... show more

Great Product: I use these in downtown San Antonio. The safety and aesthetics of these lights are worth the money. They’re exceptionally bright and, although legally most states require at least reflectors on the front and back of your bike, if I only had the money for these Activ Lites or a pair of head and tail lights, I’m picking these for the wheels every time. They give the people you share the road with much more spacial awareness from most angles, and even when you can’t see the lights directly because you’re looking at the bike from behind or in front, the lights are strong enough to light up the road beneath you so people know you’re there. Excellent Service: The product I purchased is a pair of the white lights. When they arrived, one of the units had a defective part (the part that holds the batteries). Because I did not see a need to return the entire package for a single part, when everything else worked flawlessly, I instead reached out directly to the manufacturer via their email, which was printed in several places on the packaging. Within minutes I got a response, and soon one of the company’s co-founders told me he had just put a third unit in the mail and that I didn’t owe them anything. I made no returns and paid no additional shipping. I am very pleased and now have what is basically a set of extra parts should I ever need them in the future. ... show more

  • Defective. Only 2 settings
Color: Galactic
These are great bike lights C you wind them through the spikes which is a bit tedious but secure once you go through the trouble. We have had them on a few bikes. Unfortunately these arrived defective , they don’t have 3 settings like they’re supposed to. They only had OFF and Blinking. I prefer the Constant ON setting like my other Activ lights have. I sent the first set back, got a replacement set, and they have the same issue. No constant light setting. Only OFF, or Blinking. I find the blinking setting annoying. The lights are nice and bright, rotate through the colors, so it doesnt have the constant “galaxy” blend of colors. Disappointed they don’t have the solid ON setting. ... show more

  • Nice and bright lights
Color: Blue
Bought these to go on a bike we bought for grandson. He loved it. My husband said it wasn’t easy to put on the wheels and it took him quite a while but his hands are big & im sure that was part of it. It really makes a difference even though he doesn’t ride the bike when it’s dark so they weren’t necessary but grandson still liked it. ... show more

  • Activ Life Wheel Lights help keep me safer while out cycling night and day, just buy them!
Color: Green
2025-12-21 UPDATE after 5.5 years of having these Activ Life wheel lights on my bike - still freaking love them! Best safety product I've ever purchased. The only thing I've had to do since getting them is change the batteries, which last a long time since not much power is drawn for these tiny LED lights. Do yourself a favor, buy them. I'm in the process of restoring an old road / commuter bike from 1984, when I'm done, I will be buying another pair of lights for it. I received my Activ Life Wheel Lights two pack on May 27, 2020, that’s just over 6 weeks ago for those trying to do the math. The packaging was identical to what is shown here on Amazon. After watching the installation video on YouTube, which was very easy to follow, I immediately installed them on my bike as directed except for one difference; instead of snipping off the excess lights after going around my 27” wheels once, I simply reversed the direction till all the lights were used. I freaking love these Activ Life Wheel lights, they give me more visibility both day and night while out cycling so that everyone sees me more easily when crossing intersections and making turns, which is why I purchased them. A headlight is most useful in allowing you to see forward (at night) and on-coming traffic and those backing out of parked spaces (both night and day) seeing you easier especially in blinking mode. A rear (red) light is for vehicles approaching you from behind. These front and back lights really don’t help much in being seen from the side; that the void that these Activ Life Wheel lights fill the void, more so when used in flashing mode. These wheel lights are a fantastic compliment to the Vastfire 1000 lumens dual bike headlight and rear light that I purchased also here on Amazon; both of which I use in flashing mode. Even though I typically wear very bright bike shirts (usually florescent yellow or bright safety orange), in order to be seen more easily, drivers are still often oblivious in not seeing me cross right in front of them or when turning; something I just don’t understand. Well, since I installed these Activ Life Wheel Lights (I got the green colored ones) along with my other bike lights, I am now visible 360 degrees day and especially at dusk and night. Often while out riding, people yell out something nice to me related to these blinking green wheel lights, many stare with a smile on their face, and two have nicknamed me the Christmas Tree Rider. I am so much happier and a whole lot safer when out riding with these Activ Life Wheel Lights because of being seen easier instead of vehicles, other bike riders, and even pedestrians not seeing me; it’s a Win-Win for everyone instead of dangerous encounters. On several occasions I have had people ask me where I got my lights and have always taken the time to share the information with them so we can all ride more safer on our bikes. One woman named Alicia, who I met in my community while we were both riding our bikes, asked me for the info to buy herself and simply just shared the link from my Amazon past purchase history from my cell phone; she bought the blue colored lights. Since having these wheel lights on my bike, I have not had any close encounters with anyone and hope I never do. It’s easy to see the positive effect these lights have in keeping me safer while out riding; when vehicles start to come towards me; they quickly stop because the bright LED blinking lights get their attention quickly. Humm, do I recommend these Activ Life Wheel lights, absolutely yes without any hesitation. Unlike other similar lights, these come with not a one-year warranty but a lifetime warranty if anything should go wrong. Before I made my purchase, I read lots of reviews and anytime a customer had a problem they shared, Activ Life replied with something to the effect of no problem, we will send you out a replacement. Like most companies, this one does not manufacture their products, but they do stand behind them if you ever have any problems, I really like that and am extremely happy with my purchase and so will you! Think Safety first, think Activ Life wheel lights. ... show more

  • Galactic vs Pastel
Color: Galactic
I pored over a lot of reviews trying to find out what exactly Galactic was compared to Pastel. Galactic has only 2 settings: Constant On and Off. I believe this might only apply to Galactic since it's default already shifts between flashing and fading, which is really cool looking. When it's on, it has lights that fades into different colors every second for 7 seconds. The colors shift from pastel (pink, teal green, yellow, light blue) to non-pastel (red, dark blue, dark green, white). After 7 seconds, the lights will then go crazy, flashing brightly between pastel and non-pastel themes for about 7 seconds. Then it repeats. Their installation video link doesn't work, but there is a paper with instructions that was easy enough to follow (I uploaded it for anyone who didn't receive one in their box). All lights were in working order. When installing onto your tire, put the batteries in, and don't unravel the lights before starting. Leave them coiled tightly like how it came, only unravel as you start weaving them through the spokes. It's easier that way. Initially I was torn between ordering Pastel and Galactic. I ordered Galactic because I had a harder time knowing exactly what it looked like and what colors it had, I figured give it a shot. Galactic might be a bit too many colors for my personal preference, but I'll go with it for now. (EDIT- I ended up returning it for Pastel since I like those colors better... but I do wish pastel would fade and go into berserk flashing mode like Galactic). For comparison, my other half already installed a different brand of bike lights on another bike- Wheel Brightz. I rolled the dice on getting ActivLites. The other brand, WheelBrightz, chosen color is just red, and only has 2 modes (solid on, and off, no blinking). It has the light strand encased in a plastic sleeve, and the lights don't seem to be as bright as the ActivLites. WheelBrightz has a larger battery pack (square) that attaches to the spokes, and requires 3 AA batteries. ActivLite is a smaller battery pack shaped like a film cannister and is installed onto the center wheel hub (more hidden profile!). I was able to install it to the inner hub myself, with a little effort. I have 27.5" wheels (700 x32c) and each ActivLite pack was enough to line each rim completely with 2 LEDs left over. I worked carefully because the ActivLite strand is thin, bare wire, only sleeved about 8 inches where it connects to the battery pack. ActivLite seems more fun, bright and cheery than its competitor. I will keep an eye on which brand starts having problems first. I shared a picture of the thin wire and pretty much hidden battery pack in the center wheel hub for ActivLites, and showed a picture of the WheelBrightz square battery pack on the spokes with plastic encased wire, for comparison. I also posted a video showing Galactic and its colors, and Pastel in its colors. ... show more

  • Meh on tires and okay on frames
Color: Galactic
If you put them on other parts of the bike it lasts longer. I have put 2 sets of these lights on my ebike tires and both times they last 2-3 months then die from the wire getting cut somewhere. Don’t know if it is the ulock or just road debris. I put them around the frame and have had no problems. Maybe they are not designed to work on class 2 ebike going 20 mph. ... show more
