Let me start this off by saying that I am an artist. I am one of those picky artists who is obsessed with finding the perfect paint or the perfect paintbrush.. or the perfect.... paint pen. I have a massive collection of paint pens with names such as Posca, Montana and Molotow. We all know those paint pens aren't cheap and they come with flaws. I took a risk and decided to buy these because I was drawn to the range of color! I felt it was worth the risk! Let me tell you..It was definitely worth the risk! I've included a pic of a fraction of my markers and paint pens in my review so you can get an idea of what I work with for comparison. This is not a paid review and I definitely bought all 5 or 6 sets with my own money so, I'll copy and paste this review on every set I've purchased. Pros: 1. Easy to get the paint to flow. Shake it to mix any settled paint. It took about 4 pumps on average to get the paint to flow. 2. Great coverage. I even tested yellow over black. Posca can't compare to this. I included a picture with multiple layers of different colors overlapping for reference. 3. The tips aren't getting clogged with paint. Anyone who as dealt with an ultra fine Posca and the muddy mess that can unexpectedly happen on a project knows the frustration. It hasn't happened once. 4. The fine lines are comparable to Posca Ultra Fine. 5. The color range is phenomenal. They aren't dups of the same color. Each color is different and is perfect for the painting without actually having to paint effect. 6. I havent tried it yet, but I can bet these would be great for rock painting also. 7. These work WONDERFUL on YUPO paper. You might need to let a layer dry and double it up. Not because of the paint, but because of the nature of Yupo. Cons: None? I can't really think of any cons. I am sad I have spent literally thousands of dollars before I found these. I haven't done enough research to know if I'll be able to order replacements of specific colors if I go through certain colors faster than others so, I suppose that could be a foreseeable problem if that option is not available. Hopefully, they have the option to "build your own" or customize or order colors or refills directly from the manufacturer. ... show more

Color: Green chartreuse
Gorgeous variety of green to aqua tints. The paint is creamy and applies very smoothly with no blobs or skips. They blend beautifully with a damp brush or sponge, but you have to be fast, as they dry quickly. They have only one nib, which is relatively fine, so using these pens is more like drawing than painting. They are really fun for adding detail over a background wash, or even for lettering. ... show more

I needed many many colors of a paint pen. I gave this brand a shot. They are better than I hoped for. If the mixer ball isn’t moving when you get them give them a good tap on the table to dislodge it, then shake well. They are fabulous true thick color, they linger where I put them. If I need to remove a spot a bit of alcohol on a paper towel and it wipes clean. Perfect for my use. I can draw fast, keep the lines loose and flowing not concerned about how every line lands. ... show more

I use these for Celtic art……on paper and canvas. These are by far my favorite paint pens of the many I’ve tried, especially on canvas. The paint doesn’t bleed or spread on canvas which is a huge issue when doing my style. The paint also applies and dries evenly and looks killer. I’ve only tried the gray paint pens and after the first job, I was very impressed how it looked. These are the pens I’ll be using from now on. ... show more

Overall 4 stars. I used these for paint by number kits instead of the little pots of paint they provide. The markers work great but there were a few issues. They tend to get gummy sometimes and that can create a mess on your work. They will splatter paint if the surface is not perfectly smooth, sometimes this only happens when running in one direction and if you go back the other way it will not splatter. They run out of paint rather quickly and faster than expected. For the price I would have hoped these lasted longer. It's hard to justify the price when some of the pens are already low on paint and now there is not enough to even do another kit without buying more pens. I was only able to do 1.5 full paintings with some of these colors. I switched to the markers half way through the first kit, then did the full kit shown in the photo attached. Most of the blue tones are already too low now to continue using. Be careful shaking them with the cap off, they will sometimes splatter paint. I also bought all the medium tip color sets and they are pretty much the same in terms of how well they work and the issues. The medium tip are definitely for larger areas and impossible to do any fine work. You need the fine tip set for that. ... show more

I thought these were a bit expensive at first, but after using them I don't anymore. The quality of these markers are above any others I've ever used so the extra cost is well worth it.
