MAM's nipples are designed to resemble a mother's nipple during breastfeeding. To achieve this, MAM observed 16 infants breastfeeding using ultrasound technology. The result is a unique, flat shaped nipple that fits perfectly in baby's mouth and makes the switch back-and-forth between breast and bottle easy. All MAM products are made from BPA-free materials for maximum safety. These nipples fit all MAM bottles and are suitable for both breast milk and formula. I’ve been buying MAM size 2 since my son was about 6 months old and love them. The flow is perfect for him and is slow enough so that when the bottle is knocked over it doesn’t automatically squirt everywhere. I’d guess each one lasts about 2 weeks before needing replaced if you’re alternating with a few; you’ll know because of how cloudy it will still be after the dishwasher. Awesome quality!! Product is great and fits the bottles that I had ordered which were size 2. However, the bottles came in sets of 3 and the nipples come in sets of 2 or 4. So now I have 8 that are a different size and one bottle that just sits in a drawer. Wish they sold in sets of 3. Product itself works great though. ... show more

We needed a bottle nipple that slowed down the flow of milk for my daughter so that going from breast to bottle would be easier. These worked great for that! The bottles can be tricky to put together correctly and will leak if you don’t have it right, but if you do it correctly there are no problems. Let me start by saying I've tried a number of wide neck nipples including Lansinoh, Evenflo Balance, Comotomo, Avent, NUK, and narrow neck nipples including Avima, Dr. Brown's, and Lifefactory. It has been a frustrating journey as I bought bottles and found the nipples they came with to be too fast flowing and had to buy nipples separately, only to find my baby still doesn't feed well on them. My son is nearly two months old and has been mostly bottle fed, with some time at breast. I thought I settled on Evenflo Balance and Lansinoh slow flow but decided to give MAM a try, and I'm so glad I did. This nipple checks all of my boxes, including some the other two don't. I was looking for a wider neck, a soft nipple, a vented nipple, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, a feeding experience that doesn't leave my son gulping air and drowning. Evenflo Balance loses on nipple softness (quite rigid), flow rate (I find it a bit toooo slow where my son will fall asleep before finishing a bottle, and the next level up is too fast), and my son always seems to find latching on it very awkward. Lansinoh provides a very natural easy latch and softer nipple, but even the slow flow is too fast for my son. He needs to be burped frequently during feedings on the Lansinoh. My son latches to MAM easily with NO ISSUES during feeding. He only needed to be burped at the end of feeding and fell asleep. The nipple is soft and fits the Lansinoh and Evenflo Balance wide neck bottles, so I don't have to buy any more bottles. These tops are very durable, however, not a huge fan of the flow rate. It’s definitely too fast for a lot of babies and can negate their feeling of being full because they are eating too fast. Great for a quick feed but would recommend the 0 or 1 of this brand for a safer flow rate.
