Used these for a paint party. They are not great quality, but they were adequate for the event. We really only used 4 brushes in the kit and I could not tell much difference in the smaller brushes. I would have preferred a smaller set but better quality for the same price. In a pack of 40 sets (400 brushes), there were 3 ferrules that were loose and not glued down. Almost every set had at least one brush that needed to be trimmed or reshaped. If you use these for a paint party the you will need to wash, inspect and “zhuzh-up” all the brushes before your guests see them. They are fine for a fun night with friends or kids camp where you are painting rocks. I would not use them to teach beginners to paint. These are just for having fun…and they met my expectations in that regard. They are an affordable option for a large group of crafters to have fun. Some of the brushes will survive multiple sessions, but generally they should be considered disposable and one use only. I gave them 4 stars because they delivered the quality that I expected for the price. I got what I paid for and I am satisfied with the product.

As any of you know who go through brushes like we do... you can just NEVER have TOO MANY brushes around when the artistic whim strikes! These aren't top quality horse hair fine brushes... they're just your average pedestrian run-of-the-mill "grab a brush and dash one off"... brushes that work JUST FINE for getting idea to paper / board / easel! Being a family of odd people with an artistic bent, it's important for us to keep a STOCK of these on hand so when 'those ideas" come up, there's always a supply of brushes ready to whip them out of whimsy and into reality. Especially as kids can often dash off that great oil paint or watercolor and then leave it to dry and forget to clean up... it's not uncommon for us to find ourselves with a supply of hard old crusty brushes that have seen their better days... And you surely don't even WANT to have high quality brushes found like that... so this particular blend of a great plenty of 60 brushes of various sizes and shapes... is MORE THAN GOOD ENOUGH to keep us going. And hey, if a few of them get left out and crusty... no worries. It's great to be able to feed the creative in us all and capture "those moments" as they come up. Delightful set, these!

I have such a struggle with finding cheaper, small brushes that will keep their points/edges after several uses. It definitely takes away from the joy of painting when I continue have to try reforming the tip only to have it splay moments later, ruining the piece of art. I was so excited when I found these brushes to use at the library, and HAD to have a set (or two)! These brushes are super durable and keep their points/edges after many, many uses. Plus, when they do eventually start to fray, they're cheap enough to buy another set!
