This calculator is pretty convenient. The writing tablet works perfect for my daughter to use as "scratch paper", or sometimes for note taking in class. It's easy to see what you've written and clears off cleanly. The buttons are big enough to be functional without accidentally hitting an extra button, but they aren't huge and doofy. They are very sturdy, they do NOT feel loose or hard. For the price I paid, I wasn't expecting much. But it's ten times BETTER than the single function scientific calculator we started the school with, and we bought that one at Staples! So you get a lot of bang for your buck. It's an ugly navy blue color, but it looks more legit that way and less like a toy than if it were, say, bubblegum pink or camo. I love camo and bubblegum pink on my clothes and bags and bedding, but not on a calculator. So I guess the drab, boring colors are perfect and ideal for what this product is. We did not download the manual. It took my kid 2 minutes to figure it out, because it is the same as any other scientific calculator. The solar works in low, low light which is awesome. It closes really tight and secure. The size is perfect for a student; it's not too large, not too small. Very portable. Fits in her casemate tablet case 3 ring binder when it's got her Chromebook, notebooks and binders in it, just slips right into the inner pocket without adding tons of bulk. The hardest part we had was finding the stylus hahaha. Would highly recommend. Child is in middle school, but perfect for any age student that needs the needs the functions of a scientific calculator. The screen is fun to mess with, like a boogie board but way cheaper. Might buy one for myself, though I would only ever need it as a regular calculator.

What a creative calculator I love that side where you can ride on it that makes things so easy it is highly functional it is fast as can be so the speed on the calculator is excellent! I love the color that we got which was a pretty navy blue so that was a good color. And the display is very clear and very helpful! This is a high quality calculator it is a scientific calculator and the button size is perfect for big ones and little ones! I'm so happy that I made this purchase for my child for her 7th grade algebra I think it's going to be very helpful for her! What a good purchase this is!

I will use this calculator on my desk just for periodic calculations, mainly related to my budget and taxes. For me, this calculator is the perfect size. Not too big, taking up a lot of room, and not too small, making it more difficult to push the keys and read the digital display. It has all the basic functions that I use, which is basic math. Although this calculator has "M" buttons, I have never seen a need to use them. I also really like the color combination -- dark blue background; gray number keys; black function keys; and red for the on/off key. This calculator is also very light in weight. I imagine that at least half the time that I will pick it up and use it in my hands. Another thing I like is that calculator is made from 30% recycled plastic. I appreciate manufacturers using as many recycled materials as they can. I agree with another reviewer who said that it would be nice to have a battery compartment, making it easy to change the battery. But this calculator also has a "Dual-Power" solar charger. Where I have placed it on my desk, the sun will hit it for an hour or so each day and presumably keep it fully charged. So not a problem for me. My old calculator is about 25 years old. It does have a small battery compartment, but I have never replaced the battery. I imagine that it has been running for years on solar. And at this price, if I needed to replace the battery, I will likely instead just buy another calculator rather than buying a new battery. It would also be more perfect if this calculator had 4 somewhat larger rubber feet on the bottom to ensure that it stays in place when using it flat on my desk. The current 2 plastic feet towards the bottom top, and the 2 very small rubber feet towards the bottom edge, aren't really sufficient to hold it in place when using it on most flat surfaces. I added 2 picture frame rubber bumpons on the bottom next to the small plastic feet to have more grip on my desk surface. In sum, I rate this calculator a "4.5" because, even though there are a couple of improvements that could be made, it is my favorite of the 3 calculators that I reviewed. (One was less expensive, and the other was more expensive.) Of the 3, I am keeping this one.

I got this when I saw the attached writing tablet. It has become a desk staple for quick "fleeting memory" notes. It is also shockingly ....easier.... to read in full sun, unlike how most screen based tech gets outside. My only real complaint with device is location of screen erase button. That button is right were I want to put my thumb lifting it up when open, so I have to keep the erase lock on.

Overall OK, the written side was a lot lighter than I expected from the online pictures, and there is a section in the upper left corner that turns into a blob if I try to write there. Cost didn't justify my driving to get a return on that part. Calculator part works as expected.

Perfect button size for my old fingers. The tilt of the display does actually make it easier to see. The overall size is just right for me too. Price? That's good too. I think that I got this one before Trumps Golden Tariffs went into effect. He does like his Gold. All over his offices. Looks to me like there's more Gold in Trumps Offices than Fort Knox. Anyway, I like the calculator. If I ever need another one, I hope that I can get one just like this "Achieva 980".
