I love the graphics on this computer, which are an upgrade for me after my 10 year old Acer Aspire died. That one had touchscreen, which I miss, but this newer Swift is a great laptop. It is lightweight. I love that as sometimes I travel with my computer and lighter is better! The only thing I haven't liked is that even when the sound is at 100, it isn't very loud. I was looking for a light yet powerful laptop to use it for work on my side projects and study. I did my research and I think this is one of the best value laptops of 2022 that is not a gaming laptop. Pros: -Intel 12 Gen 12 cores and 16 threads that's more than enough power. -DDR5 RAM memory, faster than order models with DDR -GTX3050, it's not the super graphics card for gaming, but better than the Intel integrated graphics that other laptops at this price range have. -Intel Thunderbolt 4, high speed and multiple screens can be connected using USB ports, can also be used to connect external graphics card. -decent web cam 1080p -good screen resolution and it looks pretty good imo -cool design, aluminum chasis and a nice green color -works with Linux out of the box, I wanted a laptop to use with Linux for software development, I installed Manjaro and everything works perfect (haven't tried fingerprint since that's not important to me but that might need extra drivers) Cons: -sound it's decent but not impressive -battery life is fair, watching YouTube at 75% screen brightness lasts around 4hrs -RAM is fixed to the motherboard so it can't be upgraded, although 16gb RAM should be more than enough. ... show more

This computer seems nice enough out of the box. Easy to set up, runs Windows, etc. I'm sitting there playing a game six days later, and all the sudden a puff of smoke comes out the back. Now I'm sitting here staring at Acer's chat support app. If an agent ever joins the chat, I'll update this review. As of now, it looks like I paid $1,100 for a brick. UPDATE: It took almost six weeks, but I got the laptop factory-repaired for free, and I have it back. It's a nice laptop for what it costs. By way of illustrating that point, the first thing the Acer support people said to me was "this'll be easier if you just send it back to Amazon. They'll give you a replacement immediately, and we'll repair the unit on the back end." Only problem was, a week after I bought it, the laptop was completely backordered. From where I sit, this product seems like the kind of thing where you can get a deal for being willing to put in a little elbow grease. The Acer factory maybe needs better QC, but their Tier-2 tech support handled the problem about as well as could have been expected. If it breaks again I'll update. ... show more

Had this for 10 months now and very pleased. I spent months looking for the best bang for my buck and I was not dissapointed. I wanted something I could game occasionally, do some CAD work, but still carry it around like an Ultra Book. IF you accept that anything with a debilitated video card is going to be limited in battery then this is the right unit. When doing anything that requires the video card to fire up it can get a little noisy with the fan and a bit warm. Also, battery life when using the video card is really poor. I bought a more compact charger which made carrying it around much easier. Just surfing the internet the battery life is decent. Still in compact size that I can use it on a plane or coffee shop. I'd prefer a touch screen but that feature alone would have added $500 to a comparable unit. Highly recommend for my goals and the price point. ... show more

    • Keyboard not resistant AT ALL, also bad cooling system.

I experienced the keyboard to have atleast a tiny bit of resistance with liquids, so I can atleast clean my laptop if needed. My Touch pad got dirty, and I did the mistake of having a few moisture particles accidently land on the keyboard when cleaning my touchpad with disinfectant spray. Now a few keys don't work at all including the space button. I didn't even spill it, all I had was a bit of my mildly damp paper towel barely rubbing against a few keyboard keys, and that was enough to have like 5 keys stop functioning. Also, this Laptop is incredibly prone to heating or shutting down, if I am using a software like abobe illustrator or cinema 4d, there is times where my Laptop is constantly being shut down by the thermal shut down. I will increase the rating once my keyboard returns to normal, because I didn't expect the mist of my disinfectant spray would damage the keyboard. ... show more

work great for playing genshin impact and the sims 4! its also great for school! The battery drain fast when I’m playing! But when I’m using it for school assignments it doesn’t drain fast. Just have your charger on when playing!!

The media could not be loaded. I experienced some issue with the keyboard backlight when it works only 2/10 times i press the f11 button. Due to my job i currently living in another country, and there's no any licensed warranty service centres. Acer support doesn't want to help you anyhow. They just sending you a short answer like "you can't do anything" and that's all. Moreover the best help you can find there is acer community, though I can't understand why acer thinks their customers should help each other by themselves. Anyway, laptop is good and decent, but this simple warranty problem could not be solved about 4 months straight so I really doubt I can recommend this brand to you, if you have a lot of long business trips. ... show more
