  • Totally worth the money/investment.
I used to be a total Windows/Android fan for many years, and then 3 years ago, I switched to iPhone and Macbook Pro, and totally love them, and I can't go back to using Windows for anything anymore. I have never had a good experiences with the windows machine, partially because, in my opinion, Windows OS sucks so hard and can't do my jobs as smoothly as macBooks can (at least for my line of work). I was skeptical about the Machine because this was the first time I decided to purchase a decent enough Windows machine with good specs. This was my second machine that I purchased within the last week (bought Razer Blade 15 first but there was a loose part in the body and the machine's battery would not charge and therefore lost power after 3 hours of use). After doing some more research, my eye landed on this one. I returned the Razer Blade 15 and then got this one after several hours of research. When I received this machine, I was surprised to know that the machine build was pretty good. Though it feels like a mixture of plastic and steel, it is a solid build nonetheless, in my opinion. Pros: - Boots up very fast, within maybe several seconds - Very fast overall. - Gaming experiences is very smooth, great graphics and control is very sleek (thanks for 144 Hz frequency). - Killer Function that can work seamlessly with both ethernet and wireless at the same time. - Many Ventilations - no fear of overheat - Relatively thin, given its class and the power within - Many ports - this is very important to me. - Fans do get noticeably loud, but I can live with it because the gaming experiences is what I care about the most. Con: - not at this point ... show more

  • Couple weeks in, Very happy
scoured the internet for a laptop that would do 3d modelling and game development in unity. This thing is great for blender, and so far everthing else. Was looking at the helios 300, the razer blade, and all the rest. Between reviews, specs and price this thing came out on top. Only immediate downside to this laptop are the gamer aesthetics on the lid, which you cant turn off due to it being the light shining through from your display. But once you peel all of the stickers off and buy some black vinyl and a sticker to cover up the hideous glowing "predator" logo, you can actually be an adult in public with this thing, getting things done. Havnt done anything that could be considered real gaming on it, but for everything thus far I've thrown at it for the past 2 weeks its been great. The battery life is better than average for a gaming laptop, but if you research it at all you'll find it is relatively low in general due to the specs in this or any real gaming laptop. RTX 2060 works great for blender and doesn't slow anything down, and from a 3d modelling standpoint should future proof you for a bit as the ray tracing and other fancy hoo haas get more implementation for non gaming usage in the future. The screen is just fantastic. Could be brighter in high light situations but hasnt bothered me yet. Most of the time I keep it in battery saving mode and for all but the most in demand digital sculpting tasks it flies. As far as fan noise, even when you put this thing in "turbo" (which is awesome they have it linked to a single button press) it is not that loud. In a quiet room, yes you hear it a bit but in everyday usage it is fine. Regular non turbo fan noise is no big deal, on the quiet side even. As I type this it is dead silent. Mind you if you were putting it through playing the highest demand games maybe it would be a bit more brutal on the internals and the fan would kick in like crazy. Hasnt gotten hot to the touch at all, maybe a little warm. All in all very happy with the investment. Will update if anything fails, but for the moment all is great and would highly recommend. I went with the rtx 2060 and 512 gb version, as well as the 144hz screen, and have no regrets. ... show more

  • I'd say it's probably one of the best thin and light laptop there is.
After returning two defective Aero 15s, I decided to try the Triton 500, and I'm pretty happy with it. Pros: 1. Runs pretty quiet for a thin and light gaming laptop. Don't get me wrong, this class of laptops ALL get really loud under heavy load, so putting on your headphones while gaming is pretty much a must. But this one is quiet in several ways: (1) The Predator sense software allows you to turn off your fans completely. This is extremely helpful when you're in a quiet environment and only want to do some web browsing. (2) Apart from the noise level, the fans doesn't ramp up and down as frequently as the ones in Aero 15 do, and fans don't have a clutching noise when they turn on. (3) The pitch of the fans are normal and you don't hear the high pitch "turbo whine". Having no high pitch noise sounds way better given the same dB level. 2. Very very good keyboard. Although there's no numpad, the tactile feedback is way better than the keyboard on the Aero 15. 3. Good 144Hz screen with good brightness and response time. 4. Decent ~84 WHr battery provides a few hours of unplugged (non-gaming) usage. Cons: 1. Build quality could be better. As shown in the pictures, the right side of the trackpad is about 1mm sunken. It doesn't hurt the look much but when you put your finger on the right of the trackpad you could feel the sharp edge of the chrome plated part of the chassis. I guess I could have gotten a replacement because this should be a minor defect but I just don't want to go through the trouble again. 2. An inverted motherboard means that you pretty much can't upgrade your RAM or SSD. 3. No per-key RGB control. I honestly couldn't care less about this. It's listed as a con here just because I know some gamers would see this as a deal breaker. 4. No SD card reader. An integrated SD card reader would be nice, but since I already carry a 5kg camera bag, packing a usb card reader isn't much more effort. ... show more
