  • Great Overall Laptop! Although shipping experience was not great!
Capacity: 15.6 in, 16 GB DDR 4, 512 GB SSD Style: GeForce RTX 2060 Max-P
This is my first review and I hope i encourage people to buy it! The laptop is amazing! It’s my first gaming laptop I’ve purchased and it is exactly what I wanted! Thin, good battery life, games well and looks stunning! I’m terms of fans, the laptop is the loudest I’ve heard, but that’s not a down side! The laptop keeps very cool even when overclocking cpu and gpu. Very important not to block vents though! I saw my temperature increase by 10 degrees if accidentally blocked the vents on the bottom. CPU boosted to about 3.9 and stayed there while staying at low temp. Haven’t really tracked the GPU performance, but when running MSI After burner it did show it maxing at over 1900. Battery life is about 5-6 hours with web browsing and video consumption. Laptop build quality is fantastic! Looks very slim, but has quite a bit of weight keeping it very strong and sturdy. I haven’t checked for backlight bleed or anything, but the screen looks amazing and that 144 refresh rate as well as 3ms response time makes everything feel buttery smooth. I have the 2060 model and believe it’s the best choice for sure! I purchased this laptop before any major YouTuber put out any reviews, but something about this laptop made me really confident that it would be perfect for me. All the youtubers I’ve seen since have given in amazing reviews and I’m extremely happy with my purchase. The laptop is also priced at a good position cheaper than all of its direct competitors like the aero 15, gs 65 and the Razer Blade. I really wanted to purchase the Razer Blade, but the Triton 500 with the same if. It better specs was about $600 cheaper so it was a very easy choice. Also I know that quality control for Acer was a lot better. The only bad think I can say abou my purchase is that they delayed my shipping two times despite me trying reschedule it and paying for 1 day shipping, although it did come one earlier then the changed date. The box it was shipped also had a very large dent in it the made me very concerned. Luckily, the device was in packaged inside 4 boxes, and the 4th and last box did not have any dents although all of the other boxes did. Sorry my review was very scattered and not very precise. I still hoped I encouraged someone to purchase this! ... show more

  • Worth the Money
Capacity: 15.6", 32GB DDR4, 1TB Style: GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q
At the time of purchase, the 16GB RAM/512GB SSD was the same price as the 32GB RAM/1TB SSD (2499), So i opted for the better spec'd version (2080 Max-Q variant) This laptop beats out my desktop (1070) in FPS for every game i play, which is mostly Total War Warhammer 2 and Black Ops 4. It gets hot in the lap, so if that is where you play most comfortably, i would reccomend also purchasing a cooling pad, to elevate it and increase thermal performance. After an undervolt applied to the CPU, with fans running at almost max on a custom profile, there was no thermal throttling, and I was able to achieve steady performance with no bottlenecking while gaming for hours on end. Very convienient to have a physical Turbo Boost button, so you're not ALT-TABing out of your games to adjust fan speeds and overclocking, which can be a pain. The amount of I/O they put into this laptop is honestly ridiculous considering the slim form factor. everything you would need, including thunderbolt 3. Overall, great laptop with great portability and performance, chose this laptop over the zephyrus due to the keyboard placement, which was a dealbreaker for me considering i do 99% of gaming with the laptop on my lap. ... show more

  • Don't buy this! Read my review
Capacity: 15.6 in, 16 GB DDR 4, 512 GB SSD Style: GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q
First off, I am a real, normal person in the USA trying to order a good working and affordable gaming laptop. On paper, this laptop is amazing. I got the RTX-2080 and WOW the performance is great. HOWEVER, the first one I ordered arrived and functioned perfectly BUT had a scuff on the top corner. The scuff was small BUT when you buy a NEW laptop for $2,300, it needs to be FLAWLESS out of the box. I then had it swapped for a another one. The second one arrived in great condition.. Almost perfect. (keep in mind these are all new and should ALL be in perfect condition). This second unit started crashing randomly turning black screen and forcing me to press the battery reset bottom on the bottom of the laptop. I called Acer and they told me to wipe Windows 10 and reinstall which is what I did. The problem persisted. I had it swapped for A THIRD one. I thought surely I was unlucky and the 3rd one would arrive working perfectly and looking perfect. THE THIRD ONE ARRIVED DAMAGED WORSE THAN BOTH OF THE FIRST 2. I opened this BRAND NEW laptop to find that the area underneath the screen is severely bowed and warped. It was unfixable. Finally, I decided to return this for a refund and try a different laptop. I wanted this to work so badly but it just doesn't make sense to pay $2,000+ for a BRAND NEW laptop and open it to find it has defects. Acer quality control is awful. You might read this thinking "this won't be me". I wanted to believe the same thing that it won't happen to me and this will arrive perfect. Wrong. I ended up ordering a Razer Blade and paying more to get something that looks like I paid $2,000+ for it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS. ... show more
