I have had this lappy now over a year, Initially my priority was gaming and VR capability. Because I have an oculus rift S, this particular VR headset requires a miniport wired directly to the video card. A lot of laptops have their external ports wired to a inferior integrated intel board but luckily this laptop port goes to the Nvidia 2070 so it works. This laptop can run any game at high settings. It has a lovely 17" screen for gaming and everything you need. Only thing I recommend is another 16Gb of memory but it runs just fine on 16. You can't go wrong. 5 stars! ... show more

This thing is solid and sharp, first impressions. It's heavy, it's substantial. The keyboard is slick. The screen is close to the same clarity as my 800 dollar graphics design monitor, for real. The fans do sound like a drone ready to take off from the ground when they kick in during heavy graphics, but hey, what do you expect, a buttercup machine? The speakers are lacking bass, but all laptops are like that, let's face it, you only have a slice of room to put a speaker so bass isn't happening. So plug in a bigger set through the headphone out jack, problem solved. Ok, yeah, the batter lasts for about 3 and half hours for normal usage, like typing a novel, or browsing documents. During gaming I'm sure it wouldn't last more than an hour and a half, but that's physics folks. It's like complaining your sports car is too noisey and burns too much gas. Just to verify, because I read one review here that mentioned the screen is only 60hrtz, the screen is 144hrts so no worries. I got exactly what was advertised. This thing is a performance laptop so I wouldn't expect it to behave like an office laptop and get 10 hours of batter life. If that's the computer you're looking for then this one's not for you. If you want a true desktop like experience with near to 4k visual clarity than pull the trigger. I don't think you'll regret it. Time will tell to the durability and stability of this rig, but I'll check back later to keep you guys posted. DEFINITELY go with the bigger 17 inch screen over the 15! Awesome picture on this thing. I use it a lot for gaming but photoshop also as well as web surfing of course. It runs fast and games don't lag. It's built in "Predator Sense" helps me monitor its performance and the dual fans keep it cool during heavy use. Nice non-glare screen and backlit keyboard enhance my enjoyment of it. There was a small concave divot in my screen. Looks like a defect from a bubble or debris in the manufacturing process. Customer service was very helpful in addressing the issue with repair/replacement but that's not an option as I'll be at sea for an extended period of time and can't go without a laptop for that long. My warranty will probably be up by the time I get back. Other than that I've had a few issues trying to get this thing to run quiet while it's not under a load. The fans do indeed want to keep it cool and I've played around with all the settings. This is not a laptop for gaming in a small space and noise cancelling headphones are a requirement. My biggest worry about gaming laptops is overheating components and I seriously doubt that will ever happen here. Anyways here's the screen replacement information I was given regarding the screen... I play a graphics intense MMO and this laptop makes it play effortlessly ! The details I can see in the game are amazing , I catch myself stopping in game just to look around. No heat issues so far but bought a laptop cooling pad to help preserve it lifespan. This is more than worth the investment.
