La Acer Nitro 16 con Ryzen 5 y RTX 4050 ofrece un rendimiento sorprendente en juegos AAA, superando mis expectativas para esta gama Creo que es de las mejores opciones calidad, precio y endimiento actualmente. Eso sí, la RAM de fábrica (8 GB) se queda corta para multitarea y juegos exigentes, y los 512 GB de almacenamiento también se llenan muy rápido. Lo bueno es que tiene dos ranuras para RAM y dos para SSD M.2 Gen 4, así que se puede ampliar fácilmente. Con 16 o hasta 32 GB de RAM y un SSD de 1 TB, se le puede sacar todo el potencial quedando perfecta para todo tipo de uso En cuanto al sistema de enfriamiento, le doy un 7.5/10: funciona bien, pero en sesiones largas de juego se calienta bastante, por lo que conviene alternar entre la GPU dedicada y la integrada según lo que estés haciendo. To keep it real, it is UNUSABLE with the 16GB of RAM that it comes with. And a 1TB SSD is a joke when every AAA game nowadays is running over 200GB each. So if you are comfortable with cracking it open and adding RAM and a second SSD then this is your laptop, and it's awesome. If you do not add RAM and an extra SSD then you will install 3 or 4 games and run out of disk space, and you will probably be able to play 25 out of every 30 seconds (the extra 5 seconds will be the system choking because it doesn't have enough memory). Forget about multi-tasking. OH - and make sure you disable the integrated video and only use the NVIDIA or you won't be able to play at all. Tested with WOW, POE, POE2, Diablo 4, Balder's Gate 3, and Hogwart's Legacy with Discord, Youtube, Steam, Battlenet, etc.

The laptop is good, and I love the colors, although at the time of purchase it was rather odd that the better model was slightly cheaper than the base model. That said, it allowed me to get all the pretty colors, so I'm not going to complain. I will say this about the laptop, and that is that Windows 11... well, Windows 11. After purchase and setup, upgrading the RAM and SSD, it initially felt like a downgrade to my previous laptop. Same brand and model (Acer Nitro) but it was the 5 model not 16. You'd think the bigger number would mean that its performance, when directly compared, would be better. Or that the speed would be noticeably different, since my previous laptop had 16GB of RAM and this one (after upgrading it) has 32GB of RAM. But it just feels slower. The only difference between the two is the OS (Windows 10 to Windows 11) so I'll blame the OS and say that the laptop itself is pretty, functional, and I like it. Some of the function key choices are bizarre, however, like the option to lock it. Acer does know that Windows has a built-in shortcut for that (Windows key + L, for those wondering) and that the previous model having brightness and volume on the arrow keys made it so that you could have other more important keys up on the function/F row? Right? I mean, it is completely missing one of my most used key binds, which is the monitor/screen off-key. If I wasn't as tech-savvy as I am, I wouldn't have thought to use Power Toys to change the key bindings. Though that did allow me to take out the superfluous Nitro Sense key and turn it into Print Screen. Other keys were moved around as well, though the function keys are unfortunately hard coded, so there is no way (that I'm aware of) to use the FN key + something Else other than those pre-selected by Acer. But this is getting long, and I have other work to do. Thanks, Amazon, for reminding me to review and distracting me today. I know, it's partially my own fault, but still.

Wanted to clone my older laptop so I backed up an old laptop disk image to a portable USB big drive. I prepared a bootable USB thumb drive with Macrium utilities to do this. I swapped the boot order in the bios from Windows boot manager to thumb drive first. that was enough to immediately render the laptop totally dead apart from the keyboard illumination. Could not even get into the bios. Acer tech support consisted in having me try the power button numerous times with the external drives unplugged and with and without the charger connected. Hardly a surprise that this was a total waste of time. He wanted me to box it up and ship it somewhere. When would I get it back? Who knows? No! I don't have time for that silliness.
