The best gaming laptop I’ve ever bought a like what four or five at this point and always been disappointed by the product in somewhere. The internals of this laptop are perfectly optimized to give you the most performance for your money. Every gaming laptop has to have a trade-off where they save money to make it competitive for the price. This one skimped on the charger, which personally isn’t a dealbreaker for me. I just bought a 230 W charger and that fixes the problem of the battery degrading when you’re gaming on the base model it’ll drain if you’re playing an intensive game because the wattage isn’t strong enough to charge through the power being expended. Also love the screen very nice to have high frame rate on your screen for Fps players so all of the high frame rate that the PC generates is actually shown. You can have the most frames in the world on a 60 rate monitor and won’t see it. Decent built quality some people complain about it, but it’s perfectly fine. I am disappointed that this model does not have the expansion that I thought it would have. They went with the battery and I thought it would be able to extend with another M2 drive. I’ll just have to save up and get a bigger M2 drive and transfer my internal files it’s kind of a pain in the butt, but if that’s the only negative in the trade-off is a bigger battery.     • Acer is a name I trust. I highly recommend this laptop.
Acer is a brand I trust. My previous laptop, the one I bought this one to replace, is an Acer. It lasted quite a few years, until it no longer would connect to the internet. Other than that it still started right up and everything loaded quickly and ran very smoothly. This Acer Nitro has not disappointed. I tried another brand right before this one and it was terrible, so I had to give Acer another try, and I'm glad I did. The screen is a bit smaller than my last laptop, but I'm still happy with it. Everything from using the internet to gaming works perfectly. Smooth graphics, no choppiness or lagging. The sound is actually better than my last Acer. Not sure what the issue was, but this one is definitely better. It's not a hard core gaming laptop but it does the job for most games. I play simulation style games like The Sims 4, Google play games and others like them. Great connectivity to the internet and Bluetooth devices. I like the back lighting on the keyboard and the smoothness of the keys. The mousepad is good. I prefer a wireless mouse though. I'm definitely glad I kept looking and found this laptop. I needed the speed and the storage for all of my pictures, videos, and games. This has plenty! And it was the best I could afford. I was looking at another one in the stores, but it sold out real fast, so I grabbed this one quick. ... show more

Overall it’s a nice gaming rig right out of the box. A few kinks with games crashing as of Jan 2026 mostly due to a windows update that messed with the invidia drivers for the gpu. Really responsive, and will run a heavy game like beamNg drive right out of the box

Laptop is pretty good quality! Here's a summary: (1) SPEED: Excellent! Great CPU & GPU combo for my gaming & coding needs. I cannot yet speak to longevity, but if I remember to, I will update in a year or so. (2) KEYBOARD: Includes silly Copilot button instead if Right CTRL. Missing dedicated "HOME" & "END" buttons, as a warning. Number pad buttons are a little smaller than normal (especially the "0"), & NumLock does NOT show current state via a light. CapsLock DOES, though! Otherwise, keyboard feels really great, seems well-built. Keys sound nice to me, fairly quiet for laptop keys. (3) BUILD QUALITY: Feels reasonably nice! I wouldn't use it as a hammer, but it feels well-built (without yet having had to take it apart...) & like it will stand up to some wear & tear. (4) OS: Came with Windows 11 Home by default. Easy setup, was even able to set up a local account (via a work-around). I, however, installed CachyOS to it & still works great! (5) SOUND: Not going to replace nice dedicated speakers, but works pretty reasonably well for this price point. (6) OTHER: Has 3 USB3.0 ports & a few other ports. Very nice! Haven't taken apart to see if there's room for a 2nd SSD, so can't speak to that, unfortunately. Overall, I WOULD recommend! ... show more

It is an amazing laptop has run any game I have thrown at it so far with zero issues and very good graphic settings. A little bummed it only has one hard drive slot but it still can be upgraded for a larger drive in future. I had a first gen nitro 5 17 inch. This laptop is a world of upgrade from that, the graphics are beautiful, the nitro control panel is awesome, it's very fast as well, I use it for a mix of work and gaming and these laptops have not let me down. There is a second slot for another m.2 ssd to be put in. If you're looking for a nice base model that you can expand storage in later then you'll be quite satisfied with this laptop. I had my last one for about 8 years. This one I'm sure will last me at least that amount. Idk what else to say I'd buy it again and again. No complaints. I knew what I was getting and my expectations were exceeded. ... show more

    • Acer does not honor warranty DON'T BUY ACER JUNK!
Don't waste your money on this laptop! After 3 months the screen went blank and the laptop would not respond. Acer has a 1 year warranty. Good luck trying to get them to honor the warranty. I sent the laptop in for repair or replacement. I got my laptop back a week later saying they found Inscets in the laptop. They said this voids the warranty. I looked inside the laptop and all I see is dust. I asked for proof of the insects and they first told me they had pictures and would email them to me. After a week no email, no pictures another 2 more phone calls to Acer technical support. Their story changes and the next level CSR said that they don't take pictures and other than the technican and the tecnician's supervisor there was no evidence. So again if you think this is a great deal consider that you may have to deal with poor or no warranty! ... show more
