  • Great Budget Pre-Built PC Option
2 weeks in and I'm impressed with this PC. I bought it when it was 20% so I got a great deal. You will have to lower some graphical settings, but it will still run smoothly.

  • Easy Gaming
I'm a PC gaming noob. I wanted a system that was easy to get started on but robust enough to try out some graphics intense games. So far this Acer Nitro has delivered. It took me an hour from unboxing to gaming. The mouse and keyboard are decent. Overall it is a great prebuilt gaming PC.

  • Solid cable management, good components for HTCP and 1080P gaming, but still has some issues
Pros: 1. Comes with the latest generation CPU and graphics card, and while not powerful, is efficient. The system only draws 51.3W from the wall when idle, and draws 183W during peak load. 2. Temperature for the CPU didn't go above 65C, and for the GPU didn't go above 60C. 3. The power supply is great (650W 80-Plus Gold). 4. Solid cable management. 5. Great DDR5 memory, but see below. 6. Micro-ATX form factor motherboard and computer case. Cons: 1. The WiFi card is outdated (released in Q4 2017). 2. It comes with a single stick of DDR5 memory, so the computer will only operate in single channel mode, not dual channel mode. 3. The BIOS has the memory set at AUTO instead of XMP, so the memory will run at 4800MHz instead of 6000MHz, and slower timings. Most people who purchase this computer won't know what that means, or how to change it. 4. The NVMe SSD is just okay compared to the other components, but it doesn't come with a heatsink. The temperatures went up to 70C during testing. 5. There are no top-mounted case fans to help exhaust heat out of the computer case, just one case fan at the rear of the case. Opening the computer case up, I could definitely feel the area inside of the case being warm. Neutral: 1. Comes with an activated Windows 11 Home Operating System, but also comes with programs pre-installed that some people may not want. 2. The BIOS also has the Mouse Speed at 2x instead of 1X. It won't matter for those that like faster mouse speeds, but thought I'd point that out. 3. It comes with a basic keyboard and mouse, but with RGB lighting. It doesn't come with a mouse pad. The keyboard has the Windows key on the right side, and the FN key on the left side. Every keyboard I've ever owned had the Windows key on the left side, and the FN key on the right side. ... show more

  • This is not an acer computer
Purchased this "acer" tower as a bundle and come to find out... the serial numbers aren't a part of the acer system (I was in touch with tech support after the computer arrived and already had a user and password) and the bios has been replaced by a janky 3rd party software. It also doesn't meet the specs listed on most sites that carry it. Amazon, Rent-A-Center, B&H Photo to name a few... Do not buy!!! 100% disappointed. ... show more

  • A good effort but falls flat
The Acer Nitro 6o is a mid-ranger gaming desktop offering a balanced combination of performance and value. It's powered by the Intel 15-14400F and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card. It delivers "ok" gaming performance for most games that someone might like to play, but seems a bit under powered for more action packed 1080p and 1440p resolution games. It comes with 16GB of DDR5 ram and a 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD, so there seems to be no reason that you could not get a better experience. But I found that there is a definite "lag" in my testing, almost as if the CPU had some issues or maybe a problem with the SSD. It should have been much "snappier" When I checked the SSD with CrystalDiskMark I got a top speed of barely 3000MB/s read (3,082) and 1700MB/s write (1,718), that is well under the performance tier you would expect from PCIe Gen 4. So possibly the SSD is defective, or there is something wrong with the PCIe slot. I don't have any way to test either of those without taking things apart and replacing the SSD with something else. The system itself is fairly future-proof as you would expect and can upgrade to (up to) 192GB of DDR5 ram, and gives you several expansion slots for some additional upgrades, however the 650Watt power supply, while efficient for non-heavy gaming activities for the system and most games, limits more significant upgrades like a higher end CPU. The use of Wifi 5 in 2024 is a somewhat dated and poor attempt, especially since Wifi 6 has been available in the mainstream for quite a while now and wifi 7 is even available. Additionally the included peripherals, a basic USB keyboard and mouse, are functional but may fall short for dedicated "gamers" seeking a higher-quality experience and accessories. The nice looking keyboard and mouse in the pictures on the web page is not what I received in the box. Mine has no backlight and the keys are simple quiet keys. When running, it does have some interesting lighting, but it's not really built to be on your desk, it's more something large enough that you want it on the ground. It throws enough light from the front fans alone to very easily find your way in a dark room, but again, that's mostly something that doesn't (or shouldn't) matter to someone that wants to purchase this to play games. I can honestly say that I expected more from Acer. ... show more
