They don't tell you that the 3080 is the 8GB version and runs at a pathetic 100 watts. I get better results on my wife's ASUS TUF that has a 3050 Ti. Don't waste your money with this, there are better performing laptops for the same price even if they aren't "RTX 3080's".

I normally build my own desktops. I have built my own rigs for the last 10 years for myself and my family. So I was really torn about if I was going to buy new parts and build a new rig or buy a gaming laptop. My work and life have me traveling a bit, so I have really been thinking about getting a gaming laptop because it just sucks trying to remote game at times.. I wouldn’t say this laptop is super mobile like a tablet. But it’s pretty light and thin considering the components and it performs. I had to get a really good cooling pad but aside from that I have no complaints. The battery life is about 1 hour of gaming which isn’t much but I plug it in so that’s not an issue for me. This has an rtx 3080 and though it is the laptop version I bought this laptop for $2200 total including tax. I have compared many different brands and spec combinations. This was the highest spec combination for the lowest price I could find. If you include the $60 for the IETS GT300 cooling pad you have this amazing laptop with 1tb of storage, the best laptop gpu at the time, 16 gb of ram, and a octa core cpu, for $2300 that’s just an amazing value is all I can say. If this laptop lasts the test of time I may never go back to a desktop, I’m really impressed with how far laptop performance and pricing/value have come. I easily spent double the money building and upgrading my last desktop rig which I am replacing with this laptop. So I am very curious to see if I can care for it and see how long this laptop lasts for traveling. ... show more

the machine us a good experience. I have the slim 17 and this one. Made you feel a monster pc. I like it. the screen is good but dont delivered the best of 360. Keyboard is amazing good. does the job right when is needed. set very high specifications game and run so good. the cooling system is good never led overheating compare to other gaming laptop. dtx for headphones is very realistic pc speakers are brutally disappointment. MSi half the price the speak sound in all room and no need to other speakers. this acer speaker is like you dont have one. camera and microphone are above standard nice touch to give you free stickers you get a good gaming laptop for the price but no excuse for pc speakers ... show more

Pro’s - RTX 3080 , 360mhz refresh rate, 1T ssd, RGB keyboard Cons - RTX 3080 is 8gb vram not the 16gb, very large, tons of wasted space between keyboard and edge of laptop. GPU is under powered No video over usb-c you’re limited to the 1 hdmi port. If I had a choice I would have gone with the 15” over 17” or even the acer predator or legion with the RTX 3060 at much lower cost. ... show more

For the price, it's got a lot of value to it. However, it is kind of bulky and heavy, so it's not the most portable thing. The rtx 3080 runs mostly well, but because of it's low tdp, the performance isn't that great, and there are better options for a gaming laptop. But for it's price, I'd say it's quite good if your on a tight budget. ... show more
