I’m definitely happy with my purchase of this Chromebook. I looked up information prior to purchasing and it’s great. I know that Google is stopping up support for updates, but if you’re not running bank statements and high profile information that you want kept secret, this machine will do you well. It connects to a larger computer monitor and flows with my 1080 HD 70 hz refresh rate just fine. Expansion slot SD card, I would suggest a low profile SD card as a regular one will stick out. You can find one as an adapter for the raspberry pi micro sd adapter that works for it. I’m able to run my google accounts, read emails, watch YouTube, do research, watch movies, play some games that don’t require a powerful processor (think card games or puzzle games), and do some data processing on MS Word online or Googles office apps. Keep in mind this is still and online reliant machine like all Chromebooks are. Without internet it’s pretty useless. Some apps that stand alone do work, but most need an internet connection. I couldn’t see a real concern with out the updates, but for the price you can just download and free virus scan on the Playstore and avoid websites or hotspot locations that are shady. You can always create a new separate Google account and use the computer the way you want without issues on your existing google account. This device works well and is solid. This chromebook was bought as a replacement for my husband's old chromebook. He was thoroughly surprised at how quickly we received it and the wonderful condition it was in. Now he's back to playing his games and enjoying another chromebook.
