  • Fantastic, should definitely be considered for personal use, not just education.
I'll get right into it. -3855u/4GB RAM -Keyboard feels very good, nice and firm. Not a ton of key travel, but definitely enough. I'm very happy with the keyboard. The keys are not wobbly like I've read about other Acer CB's. -Touchpad is on the large side, very responsive to gestures, nice and slippery, and feels accurate. Physical click is decent, I've never had a CB with a "very good" feeling physical click, this C771 is probably the best I've had. My Toshiba Chromebook 2 2015 had a -horrid- mouse click. -From full, battery life estimates 11 hours with a few browser windows open and a handful of tabs in each window. Screen brightness around 90% -Build quality is excellent, this thing feels so solid that even though it's all plastic, it feels like a well made product. -Only has USB C on the left side, sucks for charging when you need to charge from the right. -Speakers are nice and loud, although there is a little vibration in the case somewhere. -Screen brightness is good, haven't used it in the sun, yet. -Screen colors and contrast are good, not great. -Screen viewing angles are good, not amazing. Definitely sufficient. -Micro SD card sits flush when inserted, thank goodness. I hate it when they stick out and can eject themselves. -It's pretty thin considering it's built to be tough. -I'm already dual booting GalliumOS, installed via chrx without a hitch. Sound doesn't work on Skylake CB's, though. For now I have a USB audio dongle. -I wish the lid had a bumpy/grippy texture to it, considering I bought it to bring everywhere, including outdoors. It's not slippery, but it could be more grippy like the R11. Can't think of anything else to add. So far I love it, it's everything I hoped for! Aside from the lack of texture and USB C on both sides, that is. I was considering waiting for the i5 version, but I'll have this device with me all the time, so the idea of a $280 device at risk rather than a ~$500 device is a lot more appealing. ... show more

  • Very impressed, but it's not perfect
Pretty sure these were old school Chromebooks. It said 'Summit School' on it or something like that. The screen had some blob on it that I couldn't get rid of so I got a new screen. It's not touch screen. It's got good scratch resistance. The battery life isn't bad. Pretty normal for a Chromebook. I like the feel of it. It feels durable and is just a nice Chromebook model. I was looking for the cheapest laptop and I found it. I just bought a cheap screen replacement, booted it with Linux, and put some stickers over it. All that matters is it's functional. I might buy another. It's not great quality, you get what you pay for, but for this cheap it's perfect. ... show more

  • There are no new updates for this type of chromebook
This laptop to old for the new chromebook updates, and because of this the wifi has issues keeping it connected, you could probably use this computer to completely wipe the chromebook data and install a deferent OS on it,other than that it has issues because there are no more new updates for this type of chromebook ... show more

  • Though its have some defects exterior. I will still rate it 5 star as satisfaction.
missing some screws also, but I successfully adjust the remaining screws to 4 corners, and make the laptop stable. screen minor and small scratch also. but all these are not major issue, the overall experience is excellent (battery, screen, and keyboard all good), the ChromeOS is excellent. I tried and used this laptop for my daily work, no issues. chrome browser as an essential app works well just like working on Windows, no difference. the File APP use to explore every files on my Google Drive. the Text APP use to open edit or create txt files seamlessly. and the Gallery APP can be use to open image and also PDF files, and you can draw and type text on the PDF files. the only thing missing is I did not find a good way to use the touch-pad to write signature, so I still have to bring my iPad to have my clients to sign their signature on the iPad. and solid feeling of the laptop, hopefully can further improve is to make the laptop more light weighted and more battery life. ... show more

  • Limited Storage But Good For 7 Year Old
I bought two of these for my two youngest sons for the Corona Virus school lock down. I wasn't expecting much, so they perform quite well and exceeded my expectations You got to keep in mind, these are not something that you are going to be able to load down with lots of extra stuff. I believe you get around 25 gigs of actual storage on the device. If you buy one go ahead and BUY A MOUSE to go with it. The track pad is not good at all and the boys were struggling with it from day 1. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase. ... show more
