Performance is good and it doesn't get hot while sitting on your lap. The fact that the case is not ultra slim and has a little more room inside to dissipate/breathe air helps with performance and keep the system running cool. The screen is bright and crisp, it's not glossy and does not have glare. It has full HD 1080P resolution. Typing on the keyboard feels comfortable, provides good keypress feel and better than other laptops that have shallow flat keys. The case and hinge feels awesome. It's not shiny, slippery and made of some recycled plastic. It's feels very good in the hand carrying around. I really love how good it feels while holding it in hand or just typing on it with the palm rest area. It's also good for the environment :-) The touchpad is responsive and fingerprint reader is accurate and fast. I am not sure if the touchpad surface will be as durable but so far it's been fine. The sound quality is average, and I wish the speakers were facing upwards. The speakers while providing adequate volume they could be better if at least they were facing up towards the user. I LOVE THIS LAPTOP. I use it to do work, watch videos, and play Minecraft. My only complaint is the Bluetooth. It’s a little unreliable, but everything else is AWESOME. Battery doesn’t last a super long time, but it charges really fast. Screen quality is good, touchpad is awesome, keyboard is also good. If you want to go green it’s a game changer. ... show more

    • Functional but Annoying
This is my third Acer laptop, and it works well enough. But there are two very annoying things about it. First, the behavior of the power button is unpredictable, and I have not been able to figure out how to change it. When the laptop goes to sleep, I don't know what will happen when I press the power button. Sometimes a short press will wake it up, but sometimes it takes a long press, and sometimes I need to try a series of short and long presses. And sometimes plugging the power cable in for a recharge causes it to restart. UPDATE 2/14/2025: The power management and battery function have become increasingly annoying. I have it set to go to sleep when I close the laptop, but it doesn't always do that, instead running the battery down to 0% while the laptop is closed. And I think the battery is dying, too. I normally keep laptops for 5-7 years, but after only 1-1/2 years I'm seriously thinking about replacing this one with a laptop by a different manufacturer. Another annoyance: there is not a true Page Down button. To scroll down a screen at a time, you need to hold the FN and PG DN keys. Because these keys are at opposite sides of the keyboard, it takes two hands. I decided to keep this one, but I'll be very careful before I order another Acer laptop. ... show more

    • Nice laptop for the price, but almost returned it!
After getting 2 defective laptops from Costco in one month, I decided to give Amazon a try. Acer Vero came in on time plus a bonus mouse pad. After I opened the box, took out the laptop and inspected everything, looked all good. I then plugged it in, and pressed the power button, the keyboard lit up but the screen stayed black, I was like that's weird, I waited for about 30 seconds, it was still black. I tried to turn it off, but it wouldn't, and the keyboard was still lit. I pressed and held the power button once again for like 10 seconds, still nothing, and can't turn it off. I thought I got a dead screen laptop, but the packaging looked like brand new. So I decided to let it plug in and see what happens, because if I was going to return it anyway, it wouldn't make any difference to me at all. After about 2 minutes, the screen all of sudden lit up, and the laptop finally started with the Window's initial welcome setup screen. Now I believe the laptop has been sitting in the warehouse for so long, both batteries (main battery and small battery) were dead and had to be charged up. After that, didn't have any issues. I shut it down and restarted it for several times, super-fast like those Intel EVO laptops. Decent speakers with good sound, not as good as ASUS Vivobooks, but beats HP's by a mile! Very quiet, fans don't kick in until I run video editing programs. Trackpad is very very smooth. Fingerprint sensor is as fast as my phone's. Love the exterior design, and the recycled plastic texture is really cool, I actually like it better than the traditional smooth finish. Highly recommend this laptop to anyone! ... show more

    • Wouldn't recommend - not worth the money
Dead after 13 months. 6 months in, the battery stopped fully charging, it would only go up to 75-80%. Last week it stopped charging altogether and now it won't even turn on. Warranty is only 1 year, so it's essentially junk now. UPDATE: Took it to Asurion locally - they diagnosed a bad charging port, but due to the way it's soldered on, they can't fix it. I contacted Acer directly and they want $550 for out of warranty repair!!!!!!! Downgrading to 0 stars. This machine isn't worth it if something fails ... show more

I love the Eco idea behind this Vero line, and it works genuinely nice... boots up amazingly fast, screen works great: if tried various positions with direct/indirect sunlight in my room and even using 50% bright, you get a relaxing view. Compared with my Work computer; an HP EliteBook 3 years old, this is a huge upgrade for me. ... show more
