    • Do not buy upgraded!

Warning do not purchase this laptop with upgrades! A year ago I bought this same laptop for my son and we upgraded it ourselves and it’s been an amazing laptop, so when I decided I needed to replace my old laptop I knew I would go with the Acer aspire 5 as well but this time I decided to buy it already with the upgrades installed ,that was a huge mistake! After hardly 2 months my laptop would not boot up, I reached out only to be told I need to contact the manufacturer. Acer asked me to send the laptop back to them for repair which I did (it cost 75.00 of my own money to ship it to them) turns out the 3rd party hard drive the amazon seller installed was bad Acer replaced it back to factory standard as that’s what they cover now instead of the 1 TB hard drive I payed for I only have 128GB and will have to buy another SATA Hard drive and replace it myself as their is no way to make this right with the amazon seller and no option to contact them. I could literally have saved myself hundreds of dollars if I had just installed upgrades on my own like before I only have 500.00 in my sims laptop after upgrades and almost 1000.00 in mine because I decided to buy from a seller who already upgraded it. Again this is nothing against this Acer laptop it is amazing and we have 3 of them, they are very easy to upgrade at home ! This review is specifically warning against buying from this seller who sells this laptop already upgraded and at a marked up price, don’t make the same mistake I did! ... show more

Received acer boc that was in the shipping box. The Acer box tamper seal was broken. On start up went to blue screen. Someone tampered with this. Very scary. I question the security of this product from shipper.
