LOVE this chromebook. Screen size is amazing. Its bright and has a backlit keyboard which is a must for me. I play games and have no issues at all. If you are having game issues check your internet provider. You need more speed. I upgraded mine for about an extra 6 bucks a month and boom! Fast connections.     • Worked great for a few months, then stopped charging.
Based on web comments, Acer chromebooks are known to have charging issues. Mine worked great for awhile, then suddenly stopped charging. Purchase new power cords, no luck. Tried all the ideas on the internet for this known issue, no luck. Now it is dead and won't even start because of low battery. Nice chromebook, when it works. ... show more

    • Excellent laptop, but with a fatal flaw.
A great product for the price. An excellent high refresh screen with good angles. But this product has a fatal flaw. You can charge this laptop with one of two USB-C ports. But after a few months the right port stopped working because of normal physical wear and tear. Eventually the left one stopped working the same way. The USB-C ports are too fragile and now I have a laptop that I can't charge. ... show more

Was using an Acer 713, very similar specs to this one, for a few years. One day the screen stopped working. The hinges, that allow the screen to fold 360 to tablet mode, are rough on the display cable and nobody really wants to fool with Chromebook repairs. It's a desktop computer now. Got this one specifically because I wanted the similar specs, minus the touchscreen; which I hardly use anyway. I like the fairly large screen. Only issue I have is that the USBC port seems to lose connection to my Anker hub with the slightest bump. Both screens go black while it reconnects. Checked the hub on another dual monitor setup, no issue. Checked port with a hub from another setup that has no issues, same problem. Port seems to be the issue. But not enough to see about a return or exchange. Computer barely leaves my work desk, anyway. Everything else is great. ... show more

im not a cloud gamer but... build is solid and good-looking, huge hardware upgrade for me and its noticeable, display is gorgeous and getting used to non-touchscreen tho lol. despite the two vents near the hinges it gets very warm when plugged in which is concerning so will update after these first impressions Update after few more days this laptop gets extremely hot when charging and very nearly too hot to touch which is concerning for the electronics near the battery... returning for refund. ... show more

Got this chromebook for both business and software development. I've had it 6 months or so and am really impressed. I'm not into gaming, but the specs and price were better than most of the premium chromebook available. It's also pretty light, with a larger screen, which is a nice combination. I use it for work applications (citrix, office360, zoom, teams, etc) and it's smooth and fast. The large screen allows more than a little "porthole" when viewing spreadsheets. Actually the default resolution is less than the max possible but still more than enough. I've read gaming reviews that the screen isn't bright enough. Perhaps for their game's darkscapes, but certainly not for normal use -- I can bear it at full brightness. I also dabble in software development and it's "linux" console works well -- essentially it supports debian/ubuntu packages. So my macbook and windows laptop gather dust. This is fast, no startup time, and much fewer "notices" ... show more
