One of the ports was bent on the water pump. I should have inspected prior to installing. I installed and it is working well.

Product came on time and is an acdelco product however whether in shipping, or before shipping, one of the heater hose barbs was bent, as can be seen in the photos. Also as can be seen in the photos, the threads on the water pump pulley are damaged, however if you have an electric fan and not a clutch then this wouldn't be a problem. Finally, there was A LOT of pitting on the inside of the pump, but with a little persuasion, a small file, and some compressed air most of it isn't hard to remove. All in all the pump is now working fine, at least for a little while, but it just took a little more work and time to get it going.

I've used GATES parts for decades as good replacement for OEM parts. But this time I was foolish to do so. The OEM pump lasted 189,000 miles before I replaced it, it still wasn't leaking or making noise at that time either. I put a new GATES on it, and at 220,000 miles the new pump was squeaking, when I pulled it off there was alot of play in the bearing and pulley already. So I got this new OEM AC DELCO pump this time, and hopefully will beat the terrible 31,000 miles I got from a GATES the last time. Time an money wasted. There is a saying, and it goes OEM IS BEST. And there is that saying for a reason. You pay little more up front, but you save money in the long run not doing stuff twice. Buy once, Cry once......
