The negative reviews had me concerned, so here's my experience. I received a factory new alternator in mint condition. Spinning the pulley by hand, it's really smooth. There's no vibration or noise. Installing is a pain, trying to get it around the sway bar, but you'll have that regardless of which alternator you choose. With the engine running, the alternator doesn't make any noise. It jumped right up to voltage immediately. I guess they addressed the bearing problem from the old reviews. I'll update this review if it dies early or anything. I expect it'll probably last the next 80k miles or so. ... show more

Fit on 2002 LS1 Pontiac Trans Am. The first alternator had a crack in the plastic. I contacted the seller and received a replacement within few days. Instalation is 3 steps. Loosen the serpentine belt, unplug the sensor and the positive cable and remove the 3 bolts holding the alternator in. Easy install if you know how to DIY on cars. My original alternator was 19 years old and the voltage regulator was being finicky. At nights all my lights would flash and dim. It's been a few months now and no voltage spikes and no problems keeping the battery charged. Mind you, this is not my daily driver car. I put maybe 30 miles a week. ... show more

BE AWARE: Seller would not accept a return on an unopened, unused alternator. Part may be genuine ACDelco, but refusing returns on new items is a major red flag.

My 40k mile, stock 01 T/A developed flickering lights and eratic voltage. It also had a belt chirp at start up that would clear up after a few miles.... Bought a new AC Delco # 335 1075 alternator. After much research on the internet, I decided that I should also replace the idler and tensioner pulleys while I had it apart.. Went with the Gates idler 38041 pulley because was considerably less expensive than the OEM pulley. Used the ACdelco 38008 pulley instead of replacing the whole tensioner assembly. Fixed all ! Very satisfied with the results. FYI- I would also suggest buying a new wiring connector pigtail for the alternator. They are easily broken or damaged during the removal process. Good to have one on hand...just in case. . ... show more

    • Exact fit
Alternator was an exact replacement and is doing the job. Price was reasonable for a quality rebuild. The only issue was that when it arrived, the plastic rear cover was broken by rough handling in shipment. Amazon needs to do a better job of securing heavy items instead of throwing all the order in a big box with a some pillows. The heavy items shift around acting like a battering ram and can be slammed so hard that something breaks. In this case, since I needed it immediately, some crazy glue did the job.
