Rotors and stators are electronically tested and then sealed with secondary insulating coating. Remanufacturing alternators is an industry standard practice that involves disassembly of existing units, and replacing components that are most prone to wear with new components. Damaged and obsolete parts are replaced and are end of line tested to ensure they perform to ACDelco specifications. In addition, remanufacturing returns components back into service rather than processing as scrap or simply disposing of them.     • Rebuild may be good, but old case (housing) is not the best
Looks like they did a nice job with the re-manufacturing process other than the fact that the bolt hole for adjustment is stripped out and the power wire lug that penetrated the case is loose. I know you can't re-manuacture a stripped out hole, but the case should have been removed from inventory in my opinion. ... show more

Installed and immediately heard a rotational noise that wasn't there before. Needed to use the car to go to work and made the 50 mile round trip. Upon inspection this morning, found alternator to be falling apart. Will be returning for a refund and replacing with a different brand.
