It keeps the unit warm but not too warm, especially since I have this placed on a counter with tile on top that tends to be colder. The seed tray comes out which is very convenient.     • Cuttings for next year
Currently using this to make new plants for next year from cuttings. Love this product. Keeps in moisture for propagating plants well. Lights are convenient and rest easily on top. I haven’t quite figured out the timer so I plug in and unplug daily but it is working great!

This is a high quality product but there is a small water leak when you shake the box l. But overall it’s a good product.

    • 3rd review update - Avoid!
The media could not be loaded. 3rd and final review - I am done with this unit and will return it. The final straw was the advertised feature of the lighting which is that they are magnetic, which is. It accurate. I need to remove the tray now since the humidity dome is not able to ventilate properly to get below a 90% humidity. Since the lights sit on the dome, I need to mount them to the shelf above or else the plants will not have light after the dome is removed. So I set up the magnets to attach the lights to only to find out that they aren’t magnetic at all. This tray, dome, and other he light all suck. They are going back ASAP and I will piece together a good solution and abandon the ecosystem. 2nd review - The original review is below. My original view was that the kit was ok, but not designed well or high quality. I pointed out issued in the design as I first noticed them, each of which continues to be valid. However, after completing a sprouting cycle it is worth noting that this solution has more issues. First, I noted that I had concerns that the light concentration was 10x higher in the center than at the edges and that there was a possibility for plants on the outside to become leggy. This played itself out with a complete loss of plants in the outside columns and very poor quality plants one column in. Additionally, the taper of the lid caused the outside plants to come in contact with the wall, retain moisture, and die. This is also partly due to the units inability to vent out moisture with its small and ineffective vents. Humidity hovered between 87% and 95% even with the heat pad turned off. For the plants that did survive, they were difficult to remove due to the deep recess and small drainage hole that bound up the roots. All in all, not worth it. Will return. Dropping to two stars and will start looking for another solution. I cover most aspects in the video, but the shortcomings include light uniformity based on a lighting kit that is too short, tight tapered edges that will crowd the outside plants, and the lack of an extender as mentioned in some of the materials. I feel that it is worth the price based on the light integration with UIS and the quality of the heating pad but AC Infinity can do better and should address the shortcomings detailed in the video. ... show more

    • perfect for propagating tropicals
I've been using this humidity dome to propagate cuttings of hoya, epipremnum, shingling plants, and more. I feel like I may have received a different model than some of the other reviewers, as I don't have any kind of expansion pack and it doesn't appear to have been missing any pieces, but I'm super happy with it how it is. I love that the lights fit right into the plastic dome top. I DON"T love how hot the lights get. It's nice for heating the inside of the dome, but when you have to remove the top of the dome to tend to the plants inside, where do the lights go? They feel too warm to set down anywhere. I mean, hot to the touch! So I wish there was a way to further secure them to the lid so they aren't toppling off when I go to tend my plants. I love the circular windows to add air flow. All in all I'm very happy with this. It holds humidity well and my props have been reliably rooting in just a matter of days. I don't mind that the lights don't extend to the full length of the dome, because I am able to put a few lower-light props on the edges. ... show more

    • Does the Job, but not what I expected!
The product does the job on what it is attended to do, but for the money not what I was anticipating. As I opened the packaging my first impression was disappointment. The lid is a thin flexing plastic cover of the same quality of one you would buy from a Home depot garden center. I do like the design with the lights imbedded though. What I was expecting was of a similar quality of the Easy Grow Propagator. I liked them so much, I bought 2. I can't see this lasting too long. Sigh! ... show more
