We had issues with our upstairs not being as cool as the downstairs so we thought we would try one of these. It worked so great in our loft that we bought two more for the bedrooms. It made a huge difference, the upstairs is now much more comfortable. Not noisy at all unless you crank the fan up all the way which I found unnecessary. You set the temperature so it turns on with the A/C and not running all the time. I found 54 deg F to be the perfect setting just FYI. Great product, It actually works. ... show more

    • Absolutely worth it for a room with low airflow
Looks nice, works well. You have to set the temp to turn on and off automatically, haven't figured that out but I don't mind manually turning up and down the fan speed. This will really only work if your vent already has airflow from the ac/heater, but is not a lot. This will help pull out whatever is there, so if you're getting absolutely no air from your vent, this might not do anything, so keep that in mind. ... show more

    • Functions well, but does not move a large volume of air.
This booster vent works reasonably well. It was easy to install and connect. The dangling power cord is a little unsightly and clunky, but works and is as expected without routing inside the wall. Setting the temperature limits, etc. is fairly simple, and can take a few tweaks to dial in the parameters to the area. The fans do push a moderate amount of air, but more would be better. I have a hot spot in the farthest vent from my HVAC unit, unfortunately right where I sit the most. This booster was purchased to help cool that area. It helps, but is not a complete solution. I purchased it only for boosting the cooling, but the built in thermometer is useful to monitor all the time. The vent worked without incident for 2.5 years until a lightning strike took it out, along with many other items in my house. I will purchase another one. Bought a 2nd one for my adjoined bathroom to leverage the larger 6x10 vent. (The bedroom has a single 4x10 vent where I have a booster there) Works great, increases air flow by more than double, and then also continues to pull cold air from the vent when the AC has turned off. Paired with a small holmes white air circulation fan, it feels like my bathroom is a huge AC blower blowing into the bedroom.     • Helps get more air into rooms with more temperature instability.
These work really well for our ductless system to get more air in rooms that get hotter/colder than others.

    • Great concept, but the room temperature didn't change much
Was very easy to install, but you can't control the direction of the air like you can with a regular vent. I was hoping it could help cool down the warmest room in my house, but it doesn't seem to have made much if any difference. Seems great in concept, but for me wasn't very effective.
