  • This could change your home in the best way
I waited far too long to try something like this out. We live in a multi-story home and it can sometimes feel like different climates with a trip up an down the stairs. Having only one thermostat and zone surely adds to this. Our upstairs bedrooms are perennially warmer as a result, even with the AC on at a lower temp. It makes sense - heat rises of course. Vent fans like this one can be the extra boost a healthy system needs to equilibrate cool airflow on a hot day. It certainly made a positive difference for us. This particular item is built well. I love how it automatically turns on/off with airflow at certain threshold temperatures. You can also set the max fan speed to keep it quiet to meet your needs. For example, mine is set at a 6 out of 10 max, powerful enough for airflow, but at the cusp of the fans being too audible. You'll need to find what works for you - the higher fan settings are noisy, but that's to be expected! Hopefully you don't need that much boost. It's nice to know there is some reserve power. The other feature I love is the display lock and shutoff. I was concerned at first that the bright display would take away from our dark sleeping space, but all I had to do is read the manual! The bronze finish complements our earth-tone carpet well. The wire is thin and can be concealed by many baseboards. All in all, this setup both looks good and performs great. ... show more

  • So much cooler!!
I bought these because I have a really old air conditioner (1994). It's too small for my house and it doesn't push the AC to the top floor enough. My main floor will be really cold and the heat will hit you in the face half way up the stairs. I have tall ceilings also and that doesn't help. I have 2 vents in my main bedroom and so I bought 2 of these. Right out of the box I put them in and plugged them in.. they have really long cords that are nice if you don't have an outlet close to the vent. I put them both on fan speed 10, which is the max. I probably will turn them down. They have cooled my room probably by 10 degrees! It feels as cool upstairs as down now. I no longer wake up in a sweat. I have an oscillating fan also going to help push the air around. Some reviews say you can hear the fan in them, probably but over my big fan and the rain my husband plays on the TV it's all white noise and they don't bother me. I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy them. I think I first looked at them a year ago and hesitated because of the price. They are worth it to sleep better at night! I still don't understand the temp setting on it but I'll figure it out. It has something to do with the fan turning on if the room temp either falls before what you set or rises above it. It has a heart and cool setting. It doesn't tell you the room temp just kinda like a thermostat turning on and off I think? For now I just use the fan setting and it goes from 1-10 for output. It really pushes the cold air from the vent into the room! It even has a night setting if you to turn off the light on it.. it doesn't bother me. ... show more

  • Easy to setup
I live in a cape cod style home and we have one large bedroom upstairs that is always HOT. The room has one vent and when the AC is on, throws very little air. Purchased this item and to my surprise it really increased the air flow upstairs! As for noise, you have different settings on the unit to change the air fan speed. 1 to 10 with 10 being the fastest fan speed. I keep mine on 10 and it sounds like a small air purifier on high. Honestly I rather be cool than worry about fan sound. Installing this unit was very simple, take old vent out then place this unit in its place. Setup for AC was to turn on your AC unit, wait 1 min, then set the temp on the unit 4 degrees higher than the temp shown on the unit. They do have videos and instructions ... show more

  • Really works
Bought 2 of these for upstairs of townhouse that was hot in the summer. We couldn't find any dampers to flip on the ductwork to redirect airflow. Was around 78 degrees upstairs and AC was set on 70. I put these in 2 of the upstairs bedrooms and played around with the settings. Huge improvement! Now it is 73 upstairs with thermostat set also to 73. They are quiet too, though I can hear them running. I have thermostat on 73 and the vent fans are set to come on anytime the air in the vent is less than 60 degrees. They run for quite a while after the AC kicks off and maximize efficiency of the AC's cooling effects. Very pleased so far. Probably will not use them in the winter since there isn't a noticeable discrepancy between upstairs and downstairs with the furnace. ... show more

  • Saved me money
Helped me at least postpone replacing AC to next year minimum. My upstairs AC started struggling to cool so I got it serviced and they advised replacement. I started by cleaning AC coils (needed it). Then I updated all blinds to room darkening instead of light filtering. Added ceiling fans in all rooms then Bought 3 of these for upstairs bedrooms and those rooms have never felt cool… til now. I like the features and the power of the fan ... show more

  • Perfect
My daughter uses an oxygen concentrator and a humidifier in her room. It makes it hot and humid in there despite the AC running constantly. The rest of the house is always freezing yet her room stays hot. I installed this floor vent fan in her room a few days ago and it is reading 10 degrees cooler now. I LOVE this vent fan and am going to buy another one for her room to cool it down even more. Worth every penny! I can't attest to the noise since her own equipment is so loud, but I can say this thing works amazingly. ... show more

  • A must have for a hot room
I put this in my bedroom (600sqft) that was always a few degrees warmer than the thermostat in the living room (I could tell by the digital clock that has the indoor temp). Once I put this vent to work, it is easily able to cool the room and match the temp on the thermostat.

  • Keeps my room a lot cooler
Loved how it has its own internal AC system as well as pulled a lot more air towards my room, before I got this there wasn’t much airflow so I was suffering during the hot summers but this helps a lot. Dislikes: can be a bit loud if the fan speed is set higher than 6 but you get used to it in a few days. ... show more
