I cant say enough about this reel. If you are having trouble decide about buying this reel, DONT! BUY IT! Casts as far as my Shimano’s, Lews HyperMags, and other high end reels I own. Its solid, feels robust, latge handles are nice, and the drag is unheard of.

The revo stx is an awesome reel, I own 2 of them and love the way they fish. Mainly on bass and an occasional pike or walleye. These reels get the job done. I run them with 30lb and 20lb power pro, and suffix 832 braided line and they get the job done! Great reels would buy again!

Spooled the reel up with some spiderwire 30lb stealth braid and paired the reel to an Abu Garcia Veritas 6’6” medium heavy rod for a nice lightweight and short package. Performance was great. The brakes are a little difficult to activate if you have larger fingers and short finger nails. You can use a small hook, pen, or knife to gently lift them. Great distance from the reel and rod combo with 1/4 oz spoons. Caught two rainbow trout and a largemouth in the first hour. Lacks instructions on maintenance, operation, etc... so the internet is going to be your friend there. ... show more

I like abu garcia stuff, but this casting reel is a little off for me. It seams like a magnetic break doesn have any effect at all. Min or max there is no difference and im getting a lot of backlash and loose line at the end of each cast. I learned how to live with it and control that with my thumb, just using a little more pressure on the spool. ... show more

I am a devoted Abu Garcia user and this reel did not disappoint. I am currently using it to throw spinner baits and chatter baits. The drag is smooth and the breaking system is great, minimal backlash when it’s tuned just right. If you’re looking for a quality reel for a decent price pick this one.
