I bought the first one as a beach day bag for non-refrigerated snacks, my phone, book, etc. I wanted something water proof and semi-sturdy. I did want something that would stand up without flopping over -- not just a regular tote bag. I needed something that would be easy to clean coming back from the beach. Preferably with bungees to tie down stuff. These are so perfect, I am now considering using one for as a weekend bag for clothes! The size is perfect. It is soft sided, but it does stand up when something is it. The bungees are great. I haven't tried putting ice in it or using it as a cooler so I can't speak to that functionality. It IS a great bag for an afternoon at the beach! If you get any sand in it, just rinse it out. I'd love more colors but overall I am VERY happy! ... show more

I think of this as a great "weekend getaway" cooler. We have an RV, and sometimes go on long trips with it. Aside from putting food in the little fridge, we'll travel with a large YETI, which keeps drinks cold for quite some time. But if we go on a quick overnight trip, this soft bag fits the bill. It appears to be pretty durable (we don't particularly abuse it...but after months, it still looks good). We pretty much use for beverages (think beers and sodas), and you can get a fair amount in. If you add ice (which you really need to) honestly, it's not super insulated. If you're hoping to keep stuff cool for a couple of days, forget it. There's no special inventiveness going on here in the insulation side of things. Mostly, it's handy, and when you're done with it, it collapses into a very small shape, which can be nice if space is at a premium. I'd say, give the pictures a good look, and match what you see against your style of camping, picnicing, attending soccer games, whatever. It might be GREAT for your needs. ... show more

Given we live in an island, beach day is a weekly thing for our family. My wife and I were looking for a good cooler, big enough to fit our water and snacks to enjoy in the beach. We bought this and we're eager to use it, however we were ver disappointed and dissastisfied since the "cooler" did not hold the cool at all, the ice melted like in an hour or less and the water that from the ice melting would filter through the walls. More annoying the zippers are super cheap and when you are carrying the cooler if the ice got melted, you will have a lot of water all over you through the zippers. Don't buy if you are using it as a cooler and thinking it will hold cool or keep your stuff cooled during pool or beach day. Super dissatisfied ... show more
