Constructed of anodized steel, rubber wheels, and strong steel pins, the ABN Universal Boat Carrier has a 200-pound capacity and can carry any small water vessel. To protect your vessel from scratches or dents, this carrier includes oversized foam bumper pads. It also features a 12-foot nylon tie down strap and a spring-loaded kickstand for simple loading. Simply pop on the wheels with the snap lynch pin and strap in your water vessel in the center of the V-shaped cradle. It is a universal size – the inside tire to tire width is 16 inches, and the outside width is 22.5 inches. When not in use, the carrier folds together for storage. Stop hauling your vessel by dragging it around on damaging surfaces. With this dolly, you can focus on what’s important – getting onto the water hassle-free. I have 2 kayaks which we need to portage to get to several launch points. Carrying the kayaks filled with paddles, life vests, and all the other gear was time consuming and hard on the hands and back. It also required 2 people - one at each end - to carry the kayaks and as a result it took multiple trips back and forth between the car and the launch point to get both kayaks and all the gear there. These carriers have totally changed how we launch. We attach these to the kayaks, fill up the kayak with all the stuff we need, and each person can take their own kayak with much less hand and back strain. These can be frustrating if the carrier is not installed under the kayak properly causing the carrier to pop off the carrier every little bump you hit. The magic solution can be found looking at youtube videos for using this carrier. The trick is to use ratcheting straps, and to loop the strap around the carrier tube on each side. Done properly, the kayaks rarely fall off the carrier even going up slopes with tree roots crossing the path. Although not lightweight, if worried about leaving the carriers at the launch point, you can pop the wheels off, and collapse the carrier, then store the carrier and wheels behind your seat in the kayak. ... show more

    • Looks Amazing, But Has Serious Design Flaws - Disappointed

This is seriously one of the most disappointing, impractical things I've ever bought on Amazon. I rarely write reviews, but hopefully this one will encourage you to look at other products before purchasing this one. We have two kids canoes, one adult canoe and a paddleboard. We really needed a wheeled tote system to get it down the hills a hundred yards or so to the lake. The trolley is very well-built, but the lack of clips for the strap renders the strap practically useless. First, the product comes with no instructions for proper strap placement (not even a video here on Amazon) or the best way to balance the kayak on the trolley before strapping. The strap slides off the back, creating a garage-sale of a mess when everything slides off. Most kayaks have uneven bottoms, so trying to find the sweet spot for simultaneously balancing and strapping is an exercise in frustration. I finally ditched the strap and got two big bungee cords, weaving the cords through the trolley chasis to somehow get it on tight. Once I did, the trolley rolls great and makes it much easier when bringing the kayaks up the long hill. That is, until, the kayak slid out of the bungee cords and off the trolley...again...WHAM! You get it. ABN could make very simple design changes to make a great product here...the wheels and chasis are solid...didn't they test this before going to market? Until they make a better product, look around for more options. ... show more

This product beats carrying the boats, barely. The wheels quickly collapse as they are designed poorly...there is no way to lock them in the open position.(I may fashion something to hold them open, eg Drilling holes and adding lynch pins ) Strapping each set to one boat with two straps (one strap towards the bow, one towards the stern) helps keep them open a bit, and from spinning/becoming misaligned. Curiously the items don’t come with enough straps to make the wheels moderately operable, or any intelligible instructions on strapping, but if you buy your own straps (2) they may work ok for your boats. ... show more
