Used for abdominal binding ; ie. diastasis recti. (detached muscle). Very sturdy, supportive and adjustable to your body. The main band is adjustable for many sizes. The two outer bands adjust to make the support more firm. While its sturdy, there is still stretch to it so you can move easily. The width is very wide so it covers from top to bottom of the abdomen / belly. Its comfortable and does hide pretty well under clothing. It looks and feels like good quality. I have no irritation, no itchyness and no rubbing. Its doing everything that it needs to do, nothing to complain about. Its better than the one I had from the hospital and has provided alot of relief from pain. Good product and would recommend.

I have not had a binder with the extra compression in an x-shape before. If you are not a fan of this, you can pull them parallel to one another (like the way other binders do it) instead. It is very supportive and I recommend it to anyone who needs it. In general, I suggest abdominal binders like these for surgeries and chronic illness and thinner ones for shape wear.

What a great item! I used this as an abdominal binder to keep my torso tight because I am caring for an elderly neighbor with Parkinson's, who needs to be lifted in and out of her wheelchair for toileting, couch and bed transfers. I feel confident to have this as an abdominal wrap to prevent me from hurting my own self as I lift her to and fro...I find it very comfortable and hides undetected under my clothing. And it launders and dries very well too!

Comes in a zip lock bag. Velcro hooks look small, but because the entire binder has velcro loop on the outside, the velcro has a powerful grip at at points, hopefully will not shred from repeated use. Gives strong support and looks to be made well.

One of the complaints about this binder is that it adds bulk to the waistline. I found NO such thing and I love the support because you can tighten the binder as much as you want.

Belly binders are helpful after abdominal surgery to keep the surgery area in place; they reduce pain and discomfort. I have two belly binders; they are all tightened by Velcro. Velcro could be a bear to tighten on your own, especially right after surgery when the person is weak and in pain. This design of the Armstrong belly binder is better because it has two different systems for tightening: the main belt and the cross-straps. I like it better than just having the main belt with vertical Velcro straps. This belt requires hand-washing, whereas my other binder can be put in the washing machine (and has special Velcro covers for doing so).
