I bought this brace because if had the extra straps to hold the brace away from your arm pits. But those braces do not come forward enough to help a 2X woman.

This back brace is extremely adjustable and feels well made. It's also surprisingly comfortable even when fully tightened down and doing its job. This back brace provide decent lumbar support, personally I don't use it with the shoulder strap, so it is nice that it is removable, so I don't have to cut it off! The strap doesn't stretch as much as the other ones I have, so make sure you get the measurement of your waist to make sure if falls within the measurement given before ordering. ... show more

This supports my lumbar area nicely and feels good when I put it on. I don’t think that I could wear for long periods of time though. The brace has two adjustments for the lumbar area. First, the belt part adjusts to your desired fit when you put it on and then a second large elastic piece that goes across the lumbar area can be adjusted separately. This is a well made lumbar back support with a good amount of support an well made straps. I am a pretty big dude and this fit well for me. I used this while I was lifting some packs of 40 water bottles, I could tell a bit of a difference than nothing at all. The straps are kind of tight but seem to be ok overall.
