Updated Review: 5/10/22 —- see 2nd one :) 😀 1st: I have been needing to buy one of these for a while now and finally broke down and got one. I went back and forth between this one and a few others, but decided on this one. Finally got it and put together, however the cutting bar is bent, so when you pull down to make your cut, your cut is not straight at all. It is crooked. There is no possible way to make it straight while trying to cut. I must have gotten the fluke one as they have great reviews, but this one is not one of them. It does cut paper great, just not straight, so I have to go back to my small one to clean it up which defeats the whole purpose of getting this one for the big orders and projects. Hopefully I can get the bar straight, can get them to replace it or send a new one of they see the review. The handle also does not go all the way on either. It gets stuck and stops half way on so it will not go further or down where it should as shown. (The black silicone part) I just need it to work properly and do what it needs too. Will definitely update if they send a new one and reach out. Will have to send in a request. 2nd review: 😀 The company reached out directly to me within a day or two of me posting this review. I never asked for a replacement or for a refund to be completed through Amazon. Just completed my review and went on about my day. The company messaged me about the issue directly with the issue and apologized that I had a defective product and that they hoped that it didn’t change my mind or view on ordering from them again. They were very quick, sincere, apologetic and offering solutions to make it right and correct the issue right away. They did not one time try to blame anyone else, try to get out of it or anything, they took full responsibility and that shows a lot for a business. As a business myself, I looked at this message from them and our interactions back and forth in a business and personal perspectives. I truly appreciated that they took accountability, reached out to me on their own when they didn’t have too, I never had to file anything with Amazon, they were super nice and very professional and the offered solutions right away and didn’t bat an eye. That is true customer service and a great business. I respected and appreciated that. It showed a lot about them, the character of their business and that they do stand behind there products so if something does happen, they will indeed make it right, so I do feel I can purchase with confidence knowing should anything happen or be wrong, their customer service is A+. It really stood out to me on that because a lot of businesses are NOT like that anymore nor do they care. This company does and it shows.     • Did not realize this trimmer lacked a finger guard

Most of the paper trimmers of this type I've seen in the past couple of decades had a finger guard as a safety feature. I didn't realize this one was missing that, and it's kind of important. I will say that the cutting action on my unit isn't very smooth and it tends to tear rather than cut unless you try to bend the blade toward the unit as you cut. This makes the blade bind up at the midpoint, but it's the only way I've gotten true cuts—I'm sure this is a slight defect with my unit, and while I could exchange it, the lack of a finger guard makes me personally want to find a different model. If you aren't concerned about the guard, this trimmer does have a few things to recommend it. First, it's really light and really flat. This means it stores easily and can be taken out and put away easily. The feet do not look like they'll grip the table very well, but that's deceptive in my experience—they're plenty grippy enough! And finally the paper stop is magnetic, so when you get it where you want it, pages won't be slipping underneath it, so once you have it set for the cut you want to make, that's what it's going to cut. ... show more

To start at the end, I would NOT recommend this cutting board. It does have a lot going for it and a lot of features that I was very happy about. However, in the end the accuracy is just off. If you look at the image with the ruler, you will see that it is actually off 1/16" ... you literally can't even cut a piece of paper in half, let alone a photo. That is the most ridiculous thing I can imagine?! The last example image was printed full page borderless 2-up on a Letter size page and cut in half. That small sliver of darker print across the bottom is the other image, that now needs to be trimmed again. Another image shows poorly painted grid lines that are faded. Another shows the photo guide that holds your picture in place as you cut, it is not square. While this does not affect the cut itself, it does not give you sense of confidence while cutting. Such poor quality for even a basic cutting board. Also, keep in mind that the blade is not traditional and is more of a metal block than a thin cutting blade. The block is not sharp really and you can't cut yourself just feeling the cutting edge. It cuts by shearing against the other metal block on the base. It really does a very good job cutting - if you are only cutting 1 piece of something. BUT you can easily tell the difference when cutting more than 1 piece ... I tried to cut 4 photos in half lol again, they were held in place well, all cut the same exact size, and did not slip however they were more very finely torn than cut. If you have need for a simple guillotine cutter at a very affordable price, this is solid and means well ... but will not do for anyone needing higher quality and more precise cuts. ... show more
