  • Still relevant and informative.
This book is well written and easy to understand for those who are ignorant of the complexities of desktop computer components such as processors, motherboards, memory, hard drives, graphics cards etc. While I'm not a gamer, this book provided the information I need to purchase much faster, more efficient desktop computers for work and home. I may even try building my own system this year. While some of the info is dated, it's still mostly relevant.......and at a great price too. ... show more

  • Best Guide I’ve read
I have read several “Build a PC” guides and this is easily the best. Has in-depth discussions about components and interfaces. The only thing it lacks is a discussion of how to choose your RAM speed if you intend to overclock. Really an educational guide.

  • Lots of detailed information.
Lots of information on video cards, CPUs , memory, motherboards and power supplies. Even has section on OS install. Most of the info is latest.

  • Good info, and great delivery
This offers a straightforward, honest format with solid information. It gives brief, honest information about components in the order they need to be considered for build and purchasing. A little outdated, but solid advice.
