  • Fascinating!
This is a most excellent book. It does such a good job of presenting a lot of facts with an engaging story about one individual green darner dragonfly. It was fascinating for my 4-year-olds and equally (if not more) fascinating for me. I didn't know that dragonflies had such complex and intriguing lives! We read this book toward the end of the summer. Then, when we took walks in nearby meadows and saw many dragonflies, we had a sense of what they were up to (getting ready for migration) and it made it all so much more interesting. We read the book over a period of about a week or so, and each night we looked forward to getting back to it and finding out what happened to the dragonfly. A great book for parents who want to encourage their children's love of nature. ... show more

  • A great story to teach kids about dragonflies
I highly recommend this book, it is a great resource to teach kids about the life cycles of this remarkable insect. Well written with great illustrations, I would use this with kids from about 4th grade up.

If you've ever wondered about the life cycle of a dragonfly, then this awesome book is for you. The illustrations are superb and the writing is excellent and easy to understand. I'm passing this book along to my daughter's third grade class. I know they'll enjoy learning about one of nature's most magnificent insects, the dragonfly. ... show more
