I have not installed this in the car yet. I wanted to see if my dog would get in it and would fit. She is an Australian Labradoodle. Weighs 42 lbs. Back length is 18” and legs 22”. She fits but seems a little cramped, however she does not stretch out while in the car. So far she seems to like it. I’ll put it in the car soon and update this review. There are 2 leashes to secure your dog or 2 if you have smaller dogs and want them together. There is a way to secure the seat to the car also. I’m not quite sure how to secure the car seatbelts to it. I’ll get back to you on that as well. It’s sturdy and well made and collapses for storage with a cover. I’m hoping it will work as I haven’t found another one that actually a booster as well. We needed that because she gets a little nauseous in the Subaru. She needs to be able to see out. ... show more

This was the largest such carrier I could find and it fits our athletic build 12 lb. min pin and potato-shaped 9 lb. griffin-mix. It was very easy to put together, easy to install in the back seat and, combined with some headrest-attached halter tethers (which a prior reviewer had suggested and which I purchased separately), kept both pups safe and comfy on a 2-hour drive. We purchased one of these to contain our dog who has been getting carsick on rides. This has been a worthwhile purchase as the incidences of vomiting have become much less frequent. Now our dog can curl up after looking out the window and unless we are on windy, bumpy roads or in a lot of traffic, we have pretty much smooth rides without a cleanup. (And if he does get sick -- it stays in the container and is fairly easy to clean up.) It worked so well we got a second one for our other car. I agree with other reviewers that securing it is a bit tricky and it takes up a seat and a half in the back of our Passat, but we generally tether the dog to the seat-rest or to a seat-belt attachment and so far the carrier has not shifted. I would recommend this to anyone who is struggling with getting their pup to ride comfortably. It has saved us! ... show more

I love the size of this so I can fit both my dogs together. One is 12 pounds and the other is about 20 pounds. They both fit great with no problem and still has extra room to move around if they wanted. They could both sleep comfortably in it too. They seemed very comfortable and happy while riding in the car in it. After reading other reviewers I decided to not chance the hooks that come with it to hook into the dogs harness and instead bought the one that hooks around the headrest. It was pretty easy to instal in my suv and looks great. It still moves a tiny bit but barely. I secured it pretty tight. So I feel so much better knowing that if I had to break hard suddenly my babies wouldn’t go flying or fall onto the cars floor. My dogs safety is my priority and I feel a lot better knowing they are safe and secure. I searched long and hard at all kinds of different booster/car seats and after all the researching I decided this one seemed to be the best. I know it’s pricier than others but totally worth it. I am very satisfied with this product and an happy to have found it. Also all the reviews as well as pictures showed that it has straps on the back to pull seat belts through. But Mine had the straps in the front along with a buckle in front to connect the seatbelts. So the seat belt goes across the front which makes it extremely secure so I won’t move forward. It really stays in place. At first I thought I got sent a defective one since straps were in the front but then realized after reading the instructions that was provided also with pictures I saw that it was not at all defective. Maybe they used to make it with straps in the back but updated to straps in front. ... show more

This one is definitely safe! I have two dogs a 8lb Yorkie that loooves to move around in the car and just doesn't want to be still this car seat gave her the flexibility to move around a little, helped her reach to see through the window but still keeping her safe! My other dog is bigger around 20lbs and a bit more hairy we used this car seat to travel across texas and he got HOT I had to put a Tshirt I had around under him to help with the heat.
