The media could not be loaded. I like the size of the watch face and the watch band. This is the 40mm that I ordered to replace the first one I ordered (32mm). Since the 32mm was the size issued to soldiers back in WW2 I thought I’d like it but was way too small and harder for me to see the details of watch hands without my reading glasses so I returned it and ordered this 40mm size. It’s a handsome man’s field watch. It has weight, not like those $20 plastic versions you can pick up at the PX or sporting goods store. I like that it’s battery powered too, nothing to wind. This is something! I’ll cherish it so am buying a screen protector made for these so that when I scrape it on something it won’t damage it. It’s what I’ve been searching for, a rugged yet simple timepiece reminiscent of the past.

I've had the watch for about 90 days now. It arrived well protected and on time. I love the watch. It has clean simple lines and easy to read numerals. It's actually pretty sharp looking too. I like it so well that I'm giving several other watches I had to my grandchildren. Wear the Praesidus every day. Update: After 90 days , no problems. Keeps,good time. Watch looks as great as ever. Had to purchase a longer strap because I have a thick wrist.

I returned the first watch due to elongated strap holes and erratic second hand movement. The second watch delivered was ok until the minute hand fell off. Their warranty dept provided a shipping label only for the watch to be “undeliverable” and sit in the post office for weeks before being retrieved. Then they charged me $70 to fix it. Now it’s had a return shipping label for a week and has yet to be shipped. Every email from their customer service department is a generic response and I highly doubt US based.

I wanted a basic, good looking time keeper and I have seen constant ads for this watch on Facebook. The Amazon asking is a bargain for the 40mm quartz. I did not care for any of the watchbands included as I wear metal bands and the picture is of one of these. The watch glows well, wears well and as a quartz it is a great timekeeper. I like the fact that this watch was copied from the watch used by the US armed forces about the time I was born! I have worn a variety of these army surplus watches - when in my early twenties. I passed them on when they broke as it was cheaper to buy a new one! This is a faithful replica with a modern movement at a great price, what's not to like? Love it.

This is NOT the Tom Rice watch as pictured. It is the A-11 Origin that is battery powered and not the automatic winding seiko. That is why I removed a star. It is a nice watch however and seems very well made. It does have the hacking feature like the original, just quartz = battery. This also has the K1 mineral glass crystal, not the sapphire of the Tom Rice.

I've had this watch for a little over a week. This watch is the 32mm size with a quartz movement. I know that many will not care for the diminutive size of this watch. I'm a not really small guy, but my wrists are rather small. When wearing a watch over 38mm I feel somewhat like I have a hubcap on my wrist. The watch and leather strap are very comfortable. The black and white face is very legible; easy to read. When I received the watch I used the website time.gov to set the watch and it has neither gained nor lost a second since then. I like that the size is that of the original GI watches from WWII; sort of a nostalgia thing for me, because when I was a kid most men were wearing watches of about this size. A big plus for me is that the quartz movement is American made--Ameriquartz from a company in or near Phoenix, AZ.

Definite mixed feelings on this watch. On one side, it's a pretty accurate replica of the A-11 military watch, made in the original 32mm. Solid quartz movement. With the domed crystal and simple face, it looks, for lack of a better way of putting it, vintage. And it does so in a way that other small field watches don't. The big difference to the original is the hands, which aren't accurate. The downsides. First, it's one thing to be 32mm, my default kicking-around watch is the 31mm women's weekender, but this watch is extremely thin and has a very small bezel, and it wears really really small even compared to my other 31-32mm watches and disappears on my wrist. The other apsect is the canvas strap is, to be really blunt, cheap, and not in the "you're in the army now" sort of way. It's fabric, quick release bars, but the downfall is that it has what seems to be a plastic backing, and it just feels not up to the level of the watch.

I’m a timex guy. Well, a cheap watch guy and timex just happens to be the cheap brand that usually has closest to what I’m looking for. That being said, I wanted new every day watch and I wanted a minimalist/vintage look. Pictured is a timex expedition that says it’s a 39mm. I think it’s more like 37 or 38 max. The timex weekender is a 38mm case and feels big to me. I wanted something smaller. Ideally would have loved a 34-ish size, but I really liked the looks and simplicity of this A-11 32mm. I realize this company also makes a 34mm model in a slightly different style, and to be honest I like this one so much I might buy that jungle edition to keep as a backup. The double dome glass makes all the difference. I tried a citizen field watch and hated it compared to this little thing. I hated the flatness of it. And it felt a lot bigger than either of my old noisy timex pieces. I don’t need a giant piece of metal on my wrist for everyone else to admire. I want something small and indiscreet that doesn’t get in my way and tells me the time. This thing is perfect. Only problem now is I like it so much I’m half scared to turn it into my daily, go everywhere, do anything watch.
