  • Best most comfortable smart watch
Color: Blue Size: 44mm Style: Bluetooth Configuration: Galaxy Watch 5
My gf wanted a smartwatch to track her fitness goals and after doing tons of research I decided this was the best. I like it so much better than the tickwatch pro 3 I was using I bought myself one as well. So comfortable you forget your wearing anything at all. Battery life is fine, you can get a day and a half off a single charge and I typically only charge it when I shower or when I'm getting ready for bed. Nice bright screen with a great deal of quality apps, customization, and additional functionality. Particularly love that there is a find my phone widget and the flashlight one is pretty great too. The interface is intuitive and I like that you can add short cut access on the home screen. I use it primarily to track my fitness and get quick access to notifications and weather. Cons: while a day and a half may not seem very long for battery life it still blows the pixel and apple watch out of the water which typically last less than a day from what reviewers say. If you do not use a Samsung phone, 2 of the apps will not work with your phone by default. One being the EKG and the other being the blood pressure monitor. Imo they are more gimmicks and probably don't work as well as dedicated devices, however there is a way to side load them onto the watch and your phone. There are great YouTube videos showing how. The watch came with the larger version of the watch band and my wrists require me to strap it as tight as it will allow to fit comfortably. I'm 5'11" 165lbs so if you are much smaller or weigh much less than me you might want to get the smaller band. I would absolutely recommend this smart watch to anyone it's great. If you are trying to decide between the 5 and the 5 pro I've tried both on and here is the difference. They are both just as comfortable to wear, but the pro is a little thicker and weightier because of the bigger battery. You will notice that your wearing a watch with the pr. With the non pro I often don't even realize I'm wearing it. If having about 3 days worth of battery and a slightly more rugged watch is more worth it then feeling like your not wearing anything get the pro. Otherwise for most people I recommend the regular 5. The tickwatch pro 3 I had before became so uncomfortable to wear I would only put it on for workouts. So having something so lightweight and comfortable was an easy pick for me. ... show more

  • Started at 3, now we're here...
Color: Gray Size: 40mm Style: Bluetooth Configuration: Galaxy Watch 5
Started at 3 stars, now after a few weeks of use I'm upgrading my review to 5. Well it doesn't do everything I want a smartwatch to do (acknowledge Duo Security prompts, have a Google voice app on the watch), it does just about everything else and does it amazingly well. Without having a Google Pixel watch to compare it to, but only an Apple watch of my partner's, I can say from my experience that this is as close as you'll get to an Apple watch for an Android device. Day 4: Google Assistant on my watch - so easy to set timers and reminders. Audio cues when running - SO nice to not have to look at my watch. The ability to download Spotify playlists and play them on my Bluetooth headphones while running - magic. Day 1 impressions: * The initial setup was a convoluted multi-step process, especially as I didn't even have a Samsung account. * The Galaxy Wearable app is faster and MUCH more useful than the Fitbit app. Unlike the Fitbit app, where there are some settings that you can only change from the watch, you can actually change settings in the app which are pushed to the watch. SO nice compared to flicking through a tiny screen to set settings. * The default band is too small for a larger wrist, so I'm already shopping around for replacement bands. * Unlike Fitbit, where everything is in one app, you need to install another app (Samsung Health) to look at health data. BUT it's looking like I won't have to pay for advanced data, unlike Fitbit Premium, which is $80 a year if you pay annually ($10/mo if monthly). * Compared to the Fitbit Sense, the Galaxy 5 battery is crap, but that makes sense considering how much more "active" and engaging the UI is (which is more akin to the Apple Watch). With my Sense, I only had to charge the battery every 3 days - I'm already getting a sense that the Galaxy 5 will have to be charged every day. * The UI on the 5 is SO much better than the Sense. And faster. OMG, I love this thing compared to the Sense. * So far, sleep data is NOT accurate. I know I got about 8 hours of sleep last night, but the 5 says 5 hours. * Apparently, WearOS 3 is NOT compatible with Duo Security - so you can't acknowledge Duo notifications from your watch. BOOO! ... show more

  • 10/10
As a self-proclaimed tech guru, I have tried my fair share of smartwatches over the years, but none have quite captured my heart like the SAMSUNG Galaxy Watch 5. Let me tell you, this bad boy is the real deal. First off, let's talk about the design. The Galaxy Watch 5 is sleek, stylish, and just downright sexy. I mean, who knew a piece of tech could look this good? The rotating bezel is a game-changer when it comes to navigating through all the features, and the customizable watch faces let me show off my personality in style. But let's get down to business - the features. The Galaxy Watch 5 has everything you could ever want in a smartwatch and more. From tracking my steps and monitoring my sleep to receiving notifications and making calls, this bad boy does it all. Plus, the health and fitness features are on point, keeping me motivated and on track with my goals. And can we talk about the battery life? This thing lasts for days on end, which is a godsend for someone like me who always forgets to charge their devices. I never have to worry about missing a step or a call because my watch died on me. But what really sets the Galaxy Watch 5 apart is the seamless integration with my other Samsung devices. I can easily connect to my phone, tablet, and even my TV with just a few taps, making my life that much easier. Overall, I have to give the SAMSUNG Galaxy Watch 5 a well-deserved 5 stars. It's stylish, functional, and just downright fun to use. So if you're in the market for a new smartwatch, do yourself a favor and grab one of these bad boys. Trust me, you won't regret it. ... show more

  • It's great (most of the time)
Color: Gray Size: 40mm Style: Bluetooth Configuration: Galaxy Watch 5
I've been using this watch daily for about 6 months now. For the vast majority of that time, it has been great at what it does. Sleep tracking, heart tracking, body composition measurements, workout tracking, blood oxygen measurements, notifications, and apps have all worked perfectly(or for the body comp and blood oxygen, as good as you can expect a tiny sensor on your wrist to be, accurate enough to track progress and warn you of issues but not in any way perfect). Battery has generally lasted about 40-48 hours(connected to my phone and with no battery saving settings turned on), and it usually charges up in about 45 minutes which is definitely fast enough to just charge while I'm in the shower. However, there have been about 3 times when I've had issues with the watch. All of these have been issues with pairing (My phone is a Google Pixel 6). It's seem to have happened only when I let the battery die fully, but after that when I reconnected to my phone, even though the watch and the phone both showed a connection, they were unable to communicate with each other (no notifications, data transfer or internet connectivity). For all these times, resetting the watch and repairing fixed the issue, and as of the last 3 months everything has been fine. Perhaps a software update fixed it, but even with this minor issue it's by far the best android smartwatch on the market. ... show more

  • Had a FitBit Sense - super happy with this!
This is for the Watch 5 - 44mm: I've had another brand for years (FitBit) and have really enjoyed the health side of those devices. I have also used several from Garmin and they have a niche (I have a golf watch and one for outdoors, maybe more GPS..). Either way - I ran into charging issues after several years and thought about a change. I recently upgraded to a Samsung S23 and have the Samsung Buds 2 Pro, so it kind of made sense to tie the watch into the mix as everything was meant to work together. I was really surprised at the snappiness and responsiveness of the GUI and apps, some took some extra scrolling at first but then I organized it (which I couldn't do on my others like this) and it is great. The Wear OS and integration with the Google Play store are great, FitBit apps weren't updated or buggy - great for fitness, but this has a broader use than that alone. Screen resolution on the 44mm is incredible and it looks great, way more sleek than my other fitness models. My Sense would light up at random times at night, that doesn't happen with this watch (and she noticed the first night and mentioned it too!!). It ties right into my phone, camera control is crazy, turning off alarms without having to roll around looking for my phone is great too. All in all - if the battery lasted longer, great. We are jamming so much horsepower and work into a small package, the battery can only be so big - I'll trade off charging regularly (I already was ~ 3 days before), a bit more now... The features and watch are worth it to me!! ... show more

  • Handy little thing
This is my first "genuine" smart watch per say. I have had one of those 50 dollar smart watches, and it was just ridiculous, did not work properly at all, so, that is all I have to compare it to. This watch is wonderful, I'm rather impressed with the way it can be so accurate with my sleep patterns (as I never sleep very well) all the different little apps that work so well with it. The fact that I can just shove my phone in my sling bag and not bother with it on trips (cause I have my watch!) is just awesome... No more huge bulky phone in my back pocket. I can answer calls or text right there on my watch. Also- something to think about... If you have an elderly parent- get them one of these watches.... one of my friend's mom fell the other day and laid on the ground in the rain for 2 hours until her kids came home and found her. If she had one of these watches, it would have really helped. you can even program google voice on it to say "hey google, call carl" . so it can really be a life saver as well. The only thing I am not too impressed with is the battery life, and they say this is an improved battery, so it must have been much worse. with my phone, it is good to go all day and i just plug it in at night, with this watch, (with wearing it during sleep times) I am having to find a happy medium with charging it sometime in the morning, and maybe in the evening before I go to bed. All in all, it's a great watch. ... show more

  • I needed this
Color: Silver Size: 44mm Style: Bluetooth Configuration: Galaxy Watch 5
I have avoided a smart watch for years and finally decided to give up the fight and get one. I hate the look of the square Apple watches and mostly think they are over-priced and faddish. I wanted something that would give me the look of a traditional watch and after watching a ton of reviews on YouTube, I decided on the Galaxy Watch 5. I love the watch but hate the band. I am not reviewing the band but it does seem like if they offer you a classy looking watch they could offer something other than the plastic bands. The setup is extremely easy with the app downloaded on the phone. I have a Samsung phone which may have made it easier and I don't think all the functions work with other Android phones. I love all the features and integration of the numerous health and lifestyle apps. When I am sitting around the house and have my Samsung phone on the table next to me or in another room, it is great to just look at my wrist to keep up with texts and emails instead of having to chase my phone down. I followed the tips and tricks from a couple of the instructional videos online and find that the battery has adequate life. I charge my phone every nigh so it is no big deal to have the watch off my wrist for an hour or so during the day so it can charge back up. I keep the display in the "Always On" mode except when I go to bed. I then turn that mode off and set the face to a dim display so it doesn't beam in my face when I turn over at night. Even with the Always On mode activated, the display does go to a dimmer mode after a few seconds. Twisting your wrist or using the other functions will bring it back to full brightness. The watch had a full charge on it around 10 AM yesterday and today at 5 PM it is showing 54% of the charge remaining. Being a retired worker and family room supervisor I didn't wear a watch most days anyway unless I was going out. I am wearing this constantly except when it is charging or I am taking a shower. I find that it is extremely comfortable (except when I had a cheap 3rd party metal band installed on it that cut into my wrist). Even though the silicone band is cheesy. The body of the watch is very light weight and comfortable. The bottom line...it has every function available that you could ever want or need and it can be dressed up to give it almost any look you like. I went with the brushed aluminum face so I can put a nice metal band on it and wear it to a senior citizen's prom, or put the silicon band back on for a sweaty sports event. (The one complaint I do have is, the spring clip on the band are a real pain to get clipped back if you are into switching bands. It took me about 10 minutes of fiddling this morning to get those tiny pins back in place. Every time I though I had them locked in, when I tugged on the band, I had the watch in one had and half the strap in the other). It's nice to read all the reviews here, but for the best impression of the watch I found it more useful to watch the evaluation videos online, especially the tips, tricks, and suggested functions that you should install once you power the watch up. ... show more
