I believe the overall 4.5 stars is an accurate rating. Simple install. About 1hr 15min and only because I ran the battery cables 3x because of OCD and wanting them ran perfectly lol. Worked first time once hooked up. Spools nicely. Haven't stretched it yet though. A few notes: 1) attach power box to winch before putting on the vehicle or you won't be able to tighten it down. 2) attach the ground cable from battery along with the remote ground from the power box to the underside of the winch motor before setting on the vehicle as well or you will be fighting to get that nut on to tighten it. 3) the plug that covers the wired remote connector is very loose so may want to wrap some electrical tape around the rubber plug to give it more girth so it wont flop open if someone breathes on it. 4) the fairlead bolts are allen heads. Big ones. Luckily it was the biggest one I had on hand. So make sure you have a large allen set.

I actually installed this winch in a race car trailer to help maneuver a car in and out. After my initial install I realized that the control attached to the motor by an electric cable didn’t work. Would only make the spool turn out. The wireless remote worked quite well though. After emailing the company they sent a new wired control along with a new relay control box. Everything works well especially the wireless. Makes loading my car a one man operation.

I have only used this winch a couple times so far and it seems strong and decent quality. This winch easily pulls my Jeep CJ5 out ditches, pulls stuck cars with flat tie and moves trees off the trail. Looks great on the Jeep, the remote works really well and sure beats hard wiring the controls. The rope works much smoother than the cable.

This thing was so easy to install, wire up and get going. I looks as good as it works. It's very clean and sleek looking. Has pull for days. It does only come with one wireless remote but I can tell you it reaches more than plenty and is easy to turn on and off. Get ready to pull whatever you want. I installed it on my rollback and I can definitely say it was way better than I expected. Don't waste your money on the harbor freight ones bc they just don't have it down and figured out like Stegodon. I was and still am blown away by this winch. I WILL BE BUYING MORE OF THESE FOR THE REST OF MY TRUCKS!

I used this item twice. The second time, the lock mechanism to lock the rope (you know, the thing that keeps the car from sliding down) won't lock. It's a fight to get it into the lock position. I contacted the seller. They asked for photos and videos, which I sent them. Then they stopped responding to my emails. So...a waste of $300+ for total junk. Between the seller's lack of integrity, and Amazon being typical Amazon, I am out the money with a piece of junk on the back of my car trailer. I guess I am the fool for trusting Amazon and trusting this winch. Next time I will use a reliable name brand and spend a bit extra with a local retailer. Amazon says they have no way to contact the seller, which I find hard to believe. So...we are basically giving our money to companies with zero oversight. What a scary business model.

What didn’ti wrong with this Winch? It pulled out a stuck H1 hummer, I pushed it passed its limits. So far have only needed it once but it surprised everyone with what it was capable of. I anchored to a tree and the winch did the rest. Almost all the tires were in the air from how much load the stock went through. Even at max load it still kept going. A fantastic Winch for the price! Don’t think twice. I used the wireless remote the whole time, works great and great long range.

Literally had to use it the day after install. Used it to help lineman out where I live mov fallen trees from the road as their winch had broken. The wireless feature impressed those guys alot even to the point where I text them where I got it from. Would buy again if ever failed.
