  • Look, it's a $100 toy...but it's actually pretty good for casuals.
Color: Black
I bought this on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. After a week with it I feel unit is fairly solid and the pads have a good feel to them. I've knocked it over once and honestly, it's pretty sturdy. The speakers are adequate as are the various drum sounds. They don't sound very realistic, especially if you plan on doing any snare rolls. The hi-hat being on the right of the snare is not ideal, though I honestly haven't dove in and tried to figure out what I can do in terms of customization or moving sounds. That said, the pedals feel very cheap and awkward to use, and the main button feels cheaply glued in place...but for $100ish, it's really fun for a starter or casual person who just wants to mess around or play along to songs. ... show more

  • Good for Grandkids & Musicians.
Color: Black
Bought this at Christmas for me and my grandson who is only a toddler. At age one and a half. He’s able to turn it on and play it at a rudimentary level. This has been an awesome tool for me to work with my grandson, but it also has the functionality for me as a musician to hook up to MIDI. I’m very pleased so far. ... show more

  • Lindo producto, excelente calidad y precio
Color: Black
Cumplió totalmente mis expectativas. Me gustan todos esos sonidos que tiene y la interoperabilidad con otros sistemas de salida, consolas de sonido, auriculares, entrada auxiliar y pedales. Me encantó.

  • 6 pads not 9
Color: Black
This thing should have 6 pads, not 9. There are no sets you can change the pads so each one is unique without repeating.....ok so I got over that, BUT the midi notes are the same way you cant assign them without multiple pads having the same note. Its ridiculous. This might as well have 6 pads for functionality purposes. There's also no way to change the pedals they dont even register when you try to customize. Don't buy this product unless you like disappointment ... show more

  • MIDI out and drum stand info here - this is very good for the money
Color: Black
This review is for using this device with sounds in your DAW only. I dont care about the sounds it makes. This is purely a MIDI controller to be hit with drum sticks (for me). Shows up as a device called "USB MIDI" Its totally decent. Just limited. You get 9 MIDI notes (11 if you count the foot pedals) and thats it. Good for controlling your DAWs transport and maybe adding markers or starting/stopping loops. You gotta be crafty with it. Its all MIDI NOTES only. So if youre on Ableton, Max4Live is your friend. Its on my cymbal stand and bashing the cymbals, I am not generating false MIDI notes. So thats great. There havent been any false hits from pads when I strike a different pad, either. So far, for a cheapo controller, this is great for me. The only thing is zero memory or programability and what you get is what you get. Simple but Im cool with that. Its also a lot smaller than any of the other 8 to 9 pad devices (besides being at least 200 dollars cheaper). The back stand is not the typical size but here are the dimensions for anyone wondering: 2.5 inch between each hole - perfect square shape 4M screw thread So if you buy a cheap plastic midi drum brain stand, just drill out your own holes and get some M4 bolts. Works fine. I got the Alesis boom arm and drilled out my holes in a 2.5in square and its been working perfectly. The MIDI on this is super simple. You cant really reprogram it. Each MIDI note is tied to the "pad type" from the sounds menu. So, if you change a pads "pad type" then you also change its MIDI note. But then when you restart the device, all your progress is lost. So youre better off just leaving it as default and re-mapping inside your DAW. The pedals that come with this are cheap but can be replaced by something nicer. Just get momentary switches. The pedals have balanced jacks but they only use tip and sleeve, so you can get something like the Hotone Dual Footswitch Pedal Momentary 2-Way and get a TRS to dual TS splitter cable and you have functionality for both switches. Note that the Hihat footswitch sends its own MIDI note and it also modifies which MIDI note your "hi hat" pad is sending. This makes sense when you think of mapping a closed or opened hihat. But you cant re-map what the pedal inputs do, so its more of an observation to pay attention to. The default hi hat pad is center bottom. So you could kinda use that info to modify that pad if you need something to alternate between 2 notes. Do yourself a favor and unscrew the back, pry it opened with a thick guitar pick, and unplug the speakers. The sounds on this are pointless for using with a DAW. You can even take out the batteries completely if you need the weight loss for your stand. Everything is super easy to access once you open it. Just a little difficult to open (guitar pick works but gotta be a little tough with it). ... show more

  • The drum pad works great for my studio
Color: Black
The drum pad works great for my studio, I am able to put fill ins for some drum tracks in my songs. I hook it up to cakewalk sonar and then to my alesis sr18 drum machine to play the drums in that in the MIDI hook up. The drum sounds in the pad are not the greatest, but are good for banging out a beat for practice I highly recommended it ... show more

  • Didn’t work for me
Color: Black
Lightweight, cheap and versatile, but although it says “programmable” there are only like 5 sound choices for any pad (!) not 128 GM set or even close, even though you can hear many GM sounds in the rhythms. And no side-stick sound at all.
