Functions just as good as the pro controller and better Ironically, the Nintendo "pro controller" is notorious for having a horrible D-pad despite the fact that Nintendo was the literal innovators of the patent over 40 years ago. How is the "pro controller" 's D-pad so bad? Any old school 2-D platformer OR fighting game fan will tell you how important it is to press Left and not also go Up or Down. Or Press Down and not also be pressing diagonally to the Right or Left. This is the glaring flaw in the official and too expensive pro controller. This 8bitdo Ultimate C controller has a D-pad that works as good as Nintendo's USE to work. It also has gyro (motion) controls and all the buttons are easy to navigate due to their placement. It's super easy to sync to your Switch, has a long battery life, feels good in the hands and built well.. I had to buy 4 other Switch controllers until I found this one. It's better than Nintendo's own controller and it's half the price. I never thought that I'd be saying that one day, but it's true. For those frustrated with the official Nintendo Pro Controller's bad D-Pad, buy this instead. Easily 5 Shining Stars.

So far I’ve connected this to our switch, our TV, and also my iPhone. All 3 instances have worked perfectly. Controller is very comfortable - buttons have a nice “click” to them, and the sticks are the right size. Well worth the spend. Thanks!

This controller, for the price, is phenomenal, easily one of the best controllers that 8bitdo has released. Build quality is incredible, very solid compared to the SN30 Pro+ this is replacing. Very comfortable especially if you're used to the official Pro Controller and the D-Pad is leagues ahead. Only thing you miss out on is the Ultimate software support and amiibo reader, both of which I don't believe will be deal breakers for most people. I have nothing to complain about, fantastic controller.

I have had many 8bitdo controllers and this is one is like the rest, very solid and is great when it is working. It typically works but I have had situations where it seems stuck and you can't get it to connect to the switch even though the lights on the device are on and it is definitely fully charged. I learned that I needed to hold down the button in the center of the controller for over a minute to get the controller to reset. This was not mentioned in the instructions so it was a bit of trial and error. I've had this happen with other Switch 8Bitdo controllers so I had some idea of what I could try.

Works smoothly with either PC or Switch. I really enjoy the look and the quality of the controller. Does everything you need with a Switch including motion control. Feels like an Xbox controller and that's what I'm used to the most.

connecting the controller to the console with usb c and the “find controller” option on the switch don’t work, to connect it you have to use the change grip/order option which wasn’t my first thought so it took me a couple minutes to get it but after playing with it the controller it has a good weight to it it feels really solid and doesn’t creek and all of the buttons have a nice push back to them. it’s a really good controller, but for $30 it’s a fantastic controller and i doubt there are many better deals out there if you’re looking for a switch pro-like controller.

Because this controller is fantastic. I got it with phone gaming in mind(try playing Sonic CD on a touch screen and you'll find a fun new definition for pain), but now I'm considering using it as a universal controller for everything else, it just feels so nice in the hands. The analog sticks are firm, the buttons are great, and it keeps its charge for a long, long time. Cannot recommend enough and very fairly priced.

Saying that there's simply nothing wrong with the controller may not sound like high praise, but my standards are very high, and Every component works with no flaws, defects, or shortcomings of any kind. The sticks, the triggers, the buttons, the D-Pad, the gyroscope. All flawless. This makes it suitable for very demanding games like Splatoon 3. Compared to the broader market for Switch controllers, simply having nothing wrong with it sets it well above most of the competition. Most other third-party switch controllers (and even Nintendo Joy-Cons, half the time) have something wrong with them somewhere, one component or another that just doesn't work quite right (or even close to right). Everything here works and works well with nothing to complain about, even in fast-paced games requiring the most precise input. Highly recommended switch controller for Splatoon players. Or anyone else, really.
