Staggering amount of controller for the price! I just wanted something no-nonsense with reliable connectivity for couch use, and wasn't going to shell out nearly double for an Xbox pad + dongle + dock. I found myself pleasantly surprised even given how good their previous controllers I've gotten have been. Pros: So far, flawless experience with software+profiles, connection, and battery (hasn't died on me once). My Pro 2 had some Xinput connection drops on bluetooth, it's good to see that wasn't a trend. I also love that the dock functions as a holder for the 2.5G adapter. Back buttons are convenient and quiet. D-pad: This one is actually good. I don't know if it's QC or what, but d-pads on all my previous 8Bitdo controllers have felt inferior to Xbox or Sony 1st party pads despite rave reviews. This one is clicky and positive. Size: It feels a bit smaller than a first-party xbox controller, and I can comfortable claw grip it for medium periods of time. I expected to have to reach for my Pro 2 more often. Rumble: Strong proper dual rumble with no noticeable rattle. Cons/nitpicks: Back buttons cannot be rebound to keyboard or mouse keys. This limits flexibility a bit for Steam remapping etc. This is just a limit of the software however and not specific to this unit. Flat-top design: The bumpers leading into a flat top feels a bit like form over function. However, the shoulder buttons are well placed and easy to press so it's not really a negative. Features: Obviously, this lacks the BT connectivity + Gyro controls of the Ultimate Pro. Since I have a Pro 2 with both of those, it's a non-issue for me, but for an only controller I would have sprang for the Pro. Dock pins: These are a little too easy to wiggle loose when knocking against your desk etc. However, I admit I toss the controller onto the dock most of the time and it usually just settles down and starts charging, so it's clearly well designed. Overall I would say for most users this is probably the only gamepad they'd need. It's very solid and premium feeling in the hand, high quality materials, and the buttons and D-pad all feel excellent. If you do a lot of emulation or are on the go a lot, it lacks a few features for that but outside of edge cases it's a fantastic unit.

Been a longtime supporter of 8bitdo and this is just another reason why I am. Love the controller and how it feels in the hands. Connectivity is easy and solid. Buttons,sticks and triggers are all really nice and responsive. Charging dock is nice and fast. The only "gripe" I have is that the controller is a lot darker in color than what the image shows but it's still a pretty sharp looking controller. Been playing Risk of Rain 2 and some Tekken 8 with it and it's great for both.

Pros: Shape, latency, customizability, analog sticks. Controller feels great in the hand, the dpad and analog sticks are excellent, rear paddle buttons are a major plus. No connection issues. Works with PC, Steam Deck, etc. Con: The base is somewhat light so the mild magnetic connection can cause the base to lift slightly and shift the base on your desk. If you are OCD like me you will be straightening the base constantly if it bugs you. Still 5 stars though because the controller is fantastic.

This controller is about the size of those nano ones that are coming out now. My only cons are really for upgrading the software of the controller and the ultimate app. If you don't let it charge before use (solid white means charging) it'll seem like it doesn't work. The left stick won't push all the way in a direction in-game (despite doing so on calibration software on your system or the controller software itself). Also, the software for the controller that you download from the 8bitdo official website might look suspicious to Windows so keep that in mind. I might update if things change.

After some work I was able to connect to my nobara Linux machine, connectivity is quick and input lag is almost non-existent. Works with every emulator I've tried! This controller feels like a solid video game controllers whereas PlayStation controllers often feel too cheap and Xbox controllers feel massive, this is a good size and ergonomic feel, rumble feels natural and not aggressive, battery life is phenomenal. My only complaint is that the d-pad feels a bit stiff.

This controller is great. So far the only issue I have run into is getting it connected to the bluetooth of my Legion go but there is also a wireless dongle that can be plugged into a dock. Other than that this controller is very comfortable, the weight feels good, it has vibration functions, you can also program the buttons on the back but this is only done in their software so there is limitations to what can be done. I do like that they have different button profiles you can set up though. Also the charging base is pretty sleek a little bit hard to grab the controller if you have it in a tighter space though. I would hands down recommend this.

This controller feels great in hand, has a nice texture to it, and feels very high quality. The charging dock is fantastic, ensuring it's always fully charged, and it auto connects as soon as you take it off the stand. 10/10

This controller is lovely. The one I purchased has the hall effect joysticks, which are lovely. I'm pretty hard on controllers so I'm excited to see how they hold up over time compared to standard joysticks. I'm using the 2.4G connector with my PC, and have never had any issues with latency or connectivity. The battery life is pretty good, and the charging dock is super convenient. It even lights up along the bottom to show when it's charging. Overall very well worth the purchase!
