Size: For Canon RF (R-series)

Features

  • Usage InstructionsThis is a fully manual lens with no electronic contacts. Camera not firing when the lens on? This is normal. "No communication" is not a malfunction. When using this lens on Canon RF-mount mirrorless camera, you must shoot in Manual (M) mode and enable "Release shutter w/o Lens" in the camera menu. (This setting is required for all manual lenses.)
  • Note: Manual Focus (MF)Please note: This is a manual focus lens (no autofocus AF/no image stabilization). You must focus by rotating the focus ring on the lens. If you do not manually focus, the image will be completely blurred (out of focus). If you are uncomfortable with manual operation, please choose an autofocus lens.
  • Versatile Portrait Lens 85mm F1.8As a portrait lens, the 85mm focal length is ideal for shooting half-body and full-body portraits. It can also capture facial close-ups and is suitable for street photography. The large F1.8 aperture delivers excellent background blur (bokeh). The wide aperture combined with beautiful bokeh enhances the visual impact of shallow-depth-of-field images.
  • Manual Focus & Aperture Ring AdjustmentRotate the focus ring manually to achieve focus. The aperture value cannot be set via the camera, so "F00" will be displayed. To adjust the aperture, manually rotate the aperture ring on the lens. Additionally, you must manually adjust exposure settings (shutter speed and ISO) according to the shooting environment to capture clear images; otherwise, photos may appear too dark or too white.
  • Compatible Only with Canon R Series - RF MountThe 85mm F1.8 manual portrait lens is only compatible with Canon EOS R, Ra, RP, R3, R5, R5 C, R6, R6 Mark II, R7, R8, R10, R50, and R100 mirrorless cameras (not compatible with M-series EF-M mount mirrorless cameras & EF/EF-S mount DSLRs).

Description

How to use the manual lens? Why can't I press the shutter after mounting the lens? Please do Enable the "Release shutter w/o lens". after enabling "Release shutter w/o lens" and switching to M, you can press the shutter to take a picture. Why does my picture out of focus and very blurry? For manual lenses, you must turn the focus ring on the front of the lens to focus. If the photo is still blurry after focusing sharply, please adjust the exposure by ISO/aperture/shutter speed. Why it show "F00"? and How to adjust the aperture value? Manual lenses do not have an electronic contact, "F00" is displayed because the camera is unable to acquire aperture information. For manual lenses, the aperture value can only be adjusted with the aperture ring on the lens. How to do if the image turns out dark? Decrease Shutter Speed(e.g., from 1/1000s to 1/250s) to capture more light; Increase ISO: Raise ISO sensitivity to increase the camera’s sensitivity to light; Increasing aperture through the aperture ring on the lens. How to do if the image turns out bright? Decrease Shutter Speed (use a faster shutter, e.g., 1/500s instead of 1/100s) to reduce the exposure time; Lower ISO: Reduce ISO sensitivity to lower the overall exposure; Decrease aperture (increase f-number) through the aperture ring on the lens.

  • Compatible with Canon EOS R50
Size: For Canon RF (R-series)
I've been using this lens for almost a year now, and I love using it for head shots. I use it with my Canon R50. It's a completely manual lens, so you have to update your camera settings, but it's quick and easy. The instructions come in the box.

  • Best looking Paper weight.
Size: For Canon RF (R-series)
Camera will not, and can not operate, while this Lens is attached.

  • Very basic lense
Size: For Canon RF (R-series)
I ordered this as a “used-mint condition” for 66$ so I’m not going to complain too much after all it works. My experience: The lenses aperture ring was loose and something was rattling. Fortunately I had some raccoon sized tools to open it up and find that all the AP ring screws were loose and one was rattling around, after tightening all those and reassembling……it works. Do make sure to change your settings to manual and also to enable “close shutter with no lense”. It gets 3 stars because it is as advertised and it works but may come as some assembly required lol. ... show more

  • Great lens for a fraction of the cost.
Size: For Canon RF (R-series)
This lens is great for architectural and landscape photography. This is a manual lens which means you have to manually adjust focus. It attached correctly to Canon RP & R7 and feels solid. Overall the image quality was much better than I expected. The images are not tack sharp, rather a little soft. I have shaky hands so that may be why. The images below were taken with this lens mounted on a Canon R7 without a tripod. Keep in mind, it’s a manual lens without autofocus, so you must understand the exposure triangle to adjust and compensate accordingly. ... show more

  • GOOD BUT ALSO KNOW THAT YOU MIGHT NEED TO ADJUST SOME STUFF
Size: For Canon RF (R-series)
I ordered this ab a week ago. It came in the mail in 3 days really fast! The box was pretty damaged but the lense was wrapped pretty good in bubble wrap. Yoy had to switch some settings for your camera because it's Manual. The lense did come a little loose but the screw just needed tightning thats all. Amazing comstomer service. Great work to them for reaching out, helping me set everything up, being pacient and send a $10 refund for the loose part of the lense. I say its a great start! ... show more

  • Very disappointing!
Size: For Canon RF (R-series)
Not pleased with this purchase!! Lens arrived physically broken (lens barrel separated near the mount), possibly a returned lens although it was stated as being new! Overall poor quality of construction. Another let down from Prime Days!

  • Would buy again
Size: For Canon RF (R-series)
Love the way these pictures are turning out. The lens fits really well on my Canon R50. A couple thing to note are that this can only be used in manual mode and you have to change a setting to get it to work, but the instruction manual is very helpful with that. Also, the little screws that hold the lens together come loose pretty easy on mine, but they are pretty easy to tighten as long as you aren't afraid to work on it yourself. Overall, this was definitely worth the money. ... show more
